Chapter 22

Katherine's P.O.V.

I was walking over to the DX, hoping I wouldn't get jumped. I kept my thumbs hitched in my jeans pockets and my head low. 

I was almost there when I herd the engine of a Mustang. Fuck. I thought. About 4 socs came out of the car, surrounding me in a tight circle.

I was scared, but I sure wasn't gonna show it. I recognized one of the socs, from that night about three months ago, when I got jumped late at night. His name was... Brian? No, I think it was Ben.

"Hey, look who we have here..." Ben sneered.

"Back off." I threatened pulling out my switch blade.

"We ain't scared of a little broad who has a blade." Another one said.

"None of your greasy little friends are gonna come save you this time." Ben chuckled. Oh yeah? That's what you think. I thought. I was close enough to the DX, that if I screamed loud enough, someone was bound to hear me. So I started going ballistic. 

"HELP! SOMEONE HELP ME!" I screamed. 

"Shut up bitch!" One said. 

"H-hey, you get off her!" I heard a shy, familiar voice yell. It was Johnny.

"Yeah! Get off her!" I heard another voice yell. It was another quiet voice but louder. Ponyboy. I thought. 

The socs turned to face them, ready to fight. 

"Get 'em!" Ben screamed. They all went after Ponyboy and Johnny and let go of me. 

I tried to go and help them, but Ben and another soc got me.

"Don't worry doll, they'll be fine. You should be more worried about yourself than those greasy hoods." Ben smirked. The way he smirked sent chills down my spine, and not the good kind.

"Let go of me!" I screamed. He had a tight grip on my wrists. It was like it was happening all over again. I was scared. I was shaking. I felt hot tears pour down my face. Remembering what happened all those months ago made me feel weak, powerless. But I knew that if I wanted to get out of this alive, I would need to fight for myself. Not rely on my friends. 

Ben was stupidly only holding onto one of wrists so I used that hand to punch him in the face. The other socs tried to grab me but I punched him in the throat. He doubled over in pain.

"Timmy get up! Don't be a pussy!" Ben shouted from the ground, holding his bloody nose.

"Look who's taking, Ape Face." I said to Ben.

"Don't get beat by a fucking girl Timmy. Let's go! Get up!" Ben yelled.

"Ben, shut up and look at yourself." Timmy said. 

Timmy finally caught his breath again and grabbed onto me. He started dragging me over into a dark alley way. I tried to get loose but it was no use.

"Katherine duck!" I heard someone yell. I ducked without thinking other wise. I looked up just in time to see Timmy getting punched in the face. I looked behind me and saw it was Ponyboy.

"Come on Katherine! Get up!" He said, helping me up. We walked out of the alley way to see Johnny standing beside two unconscious socs.

"C'mon let's go to the DX." Ponyboy said. Johnny shakily nodded and walked beside me and Ponyboy the rest of the way to the DX.
