We scrambled up to our feet as we were forced to follow the lady. We zipped down the halls and made it to the principle's office. "I don't know what you kids are doing, but Principle Brands won't be the least amused." She said with sass. She walked away all diva like as the sound of her clanking high heels faded away. I looked at Dylan and Dustin and Dylan seemed a little worried. "Dylan? You okay?" I asked sympathetically. He put his head in his hands. "It's okay. I've been here before. It's not all that bad...." I tried not to look at him. "Ugh, it's not the trouble Cassie. She's going to tell him that we said bully resort. He's going to ask about it. It's gonna get shut down." "Oh." It made me sad to know that it was my fault that his escape would be taken away because of me. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to ruin the resort." I apologized. "It's not your fault Cassie!" The anger rose in his voice. "It's their fault. The girls. If anything, they should get in trouble. I don't possibly see why we should be punished. Dumb people." He finished as the door began to open. "Cassie James? I didn't think I'd have to see you again." I gave a small wave and looked down. "Just come in."
We followed him into the office and he made us take a seat. I swear it was the awkward silence that was killing me.
"You three are here because?" He started. We each looked around to each other. "Well uh," Dylan started. "Look Mr. Brands. This is all my fault. I skipped class and being the good friends they are, they came looking for me. I'm just really sorry you guys. Punish me Mr. Brands. Not them." I said trying to sound truthful.
"Well uh....." Mr. Brands sounded really confused. "You skipped class?" He asked me. "Yes sir." I nodded. "Well all of you did, but Dylan and Dustin are off with a warning." I breathed a sigh of relief. Wait what about me? "Cassie, I'm afraid you are going to have detention. Unless you can tell me why you were skipping?" I didn't want to explain but what would my mother say to me getting a detention? "Mr. Brands, these girls are bullying Cassie. They've been black mailing her and calling her a dog. They even put dog treats on her lunch tray today. She was just trying to get away." "Dylan!" I whispered. "Cassie? Is this all true?" Mr. Brands asked me. "Yes sir." I admitted. He picked up his phone. "Woah! What are you doing." I asked worriedly. "Calling your mother." I began to sob with my head in my hands. Dylan put his hand on my back trying to comfort me.So long story short, my mom came to pick me up. She was really upset that I was being bullied and didn't take action. She even grounded my sister for not telling anyone. But she came up with this brilliant plan. My mom wants me to be friends with "the girls". Guess who's hosting a sleepover.
