"Sam?" I called out as I stepped out into the fire escape.
She looked at me and then went back to ignoring me and staring out into the city.
"Sam, C'mon... you can't ignore me forever," I said as I walked to her. I placed the crutches to lean on the wall and sat down on the stairs as my legs had begun to kill me.
"Watch me" she said.
"Well, I got you to talk, didn't I?" I said as I looked at her. Well, back of her head.
"Damn you, Benson" she said as she turned around and looked at me.
"Why aren't you at school?" she asked as she sat down on the floor.
"I left midway... Had to find you" I said.
Sam fake gasped. "YOU LEFT SCHOOL FOR A LIL OL ME?" she said sarcastically and I laughed.
"See, I missed this" I said as I looked into her icy blue eyes.
"Missed what?"
"Being with you... I-" She cut me off.
"It's your own fault Fredweird... YOU'RE the reason I broke up with you" she said. There was pain in her voice.
"Sam, I didn't mean to. She kissed me" I said and she scoffed.
"You kissed back, didn't you? You made OUT with her. If it really was an accident, you would have pushed her away after the first kiss. Instead, you didn't stop her. YOU kissed her and now, you're DATING her, Benson" she said. She stood up and said, "I'm going. Later, Freddo."
I picked up the crutch and blocked her path.
"Move, Benson" she said grimly.
"No. Not until we talk this through" I said.
"What else? I told you why it's all your fault. And for once, I'm not even saying it coz I don't want to hold responsibility."
"Sam, hear me out" I said but, she stormed out. I picked up the crutch and hobbled after her.
"I'll break up with her" I called out from across the hallway. She was already at the other end.
"Go ahead. Break up with her if you want. But, while you do so, remember. You broke both my trust and my heart. So, even if you were single again, I wouldn't go out with you." Saying so, she left. Just as she entered the elevator, she whispered, "Just yet."
I sighed and walked home and decided to break up with Carly in the evening.
Just you wait and see, Sammy... I'll gain both your trust and heart once again.
I'll put your broken heart back together.
Just leave it all to me.
