Bushwell never seemed more like home.
After our 'accidental' drive all the way to San Diego, we were exhausted as we walked into Bushwell groaning. Poor Spencer was carrying over 6 luggage bags - 4 being mine and I was well, still hobbling.
Crutches suck.
Carly went up to the elevator and pushed the button before coming to help me.
"A little help here, Carls?" Spencer groaned as he pulled in 5 bags and the 6th one hung across his back.
"Are you on crutches?" she asked.
"No?"
"Then, deal with it. Helping the disabled here" she said.
"Excuses moi?" I asked.
"Nevermind, Freddie" she responded.
Spencer groaned and kept trying to pull the bags. Carly rolled her eyes and asked me to head up to the apartments as she head over to help her brother.
I agreed immediately. But, I figured I'd go to Carly's place first as that's where the ham stays and that's where I'd find Sam. I pushed 8 and watched the doors shut getting a glimpse of Carly and Spencer falling over with the bags.
Just as the doors opened on the 8th floor, I could feel her presence - Sam's.
I hobbled over to Carly's main door and found the extra key Spence keeps in the plant outside. I fiddled around with the lock and swung the door wide open, hoping to find Sam.
As expected, I found the blonde spread across the couch, ham in hand, streaming Celebrities under water on her pear phone.
"Sam?" I called. But, I got no response.
I walked closer and snuck up behind her, which now that I think about, was a bad idea.
I put my hand on her shoulder and less than a second later, she grabbed my arm with her hand, twisted it and flipped me over onto the ground.
"Oh Damnnn" I groaned as I lifted my head off the ground.
"Shit, what the fudge were you thinking, trynna sneak up behind me like that?" she asked as she lent a hand to help me up.
"Yea, nice to see you too," I responded struggling to find my ground.
"I'd say likewise but then, I'd be lying," she mumbled before turning around and walking towards the kitchen. "Where's Carls?"
"Down in the lobby with the bag... She asked me to meet her here coz well... my legs" I responded. The tension in the air was ridiculously heavy. Sam raised her brows and just shook her head with a sigh as she walked towards the main door instead.
"Where are you going?" I asked, confused.
"Away from you, Freddifer. Besides, Mel's flight leaves soon so, I might as well head to the airport instead."
"Sam, I didn't mean to kiss her or hurt you" I said, slowly.
"Yeah and I didn't mean to eat the entire ham but, here we are."
"Sam I-" she slammed the door shut. I tried to follow her. But, by the time I reached the door to open and follow, I heard the sound of her boots get fainter and fainter. I sighed. I opened the door and saw the elevator door shutting.
Our eyes met one final time before the metal door cut us off.
