𝐊𝐄𝐍𝐍𝐘 woke up and right away spat out the salty water that had been stuck inside her airways for a few hours, or maybe just some minutes. when her eyes opened, kenny saw herself surrounded by trees, sand inside her black shoes making her feet so uncomfortable she decided to take them off, and all over her back, as well as pain on her column. kenny's hair was sticking to her forehead, and her. she found herself being intolerable to almost every sensation. she wanted to scream because of this situation she was in and couldn't bear all the feelings that attacked her in less than a minute.
the brunette laid her hands on the floor to help herself up to her feet and shook the sand off her as much as she could.
"ouch! what--" she whispered to herself. kenny stroked her head as the pain started reappearing, ten feet away from her she saw the little pinecone next to the lake.
yet every worry dissipated when her eyes caught the sight in front of her. it amazed her how unrealistically perfect and glorious that place looked. how the trees were the spotlight, how the sun illuminated anything within its reach. the way the water created one kind of magical glass, mirroring every single detail from the gorgeous blue sky. the grass was so soft and clean under her bare foot, so full of life; everything looked and felt just right. but whatever was running through her head was stopped when a dwarf walked by.
in the books she used to read, the author would describe a dwarf as an ugly-looking -or rather dangerous- creature, really short and grumpy. but who she was looking at was different. a man in brown boots, some little pants, and a big dirty plain shirt that wasn't tucked inside them. he was also carrying a peaceful expression. he was short, really short, and if you were wondering, not unattractive, however not exactly handsome. kenny got cautiously closer to the man.
"excuse me?" kenny called to get his attention. the short man slowly turned around and quickly spotted the stranger who called him, giving her a curious look. surprisingly, he just stared at her, as if checking if she was a threat. he then made a surprised face with his big eyes widening and mouth as well; as if he just realized something that she couldn't figure out, and neither knew. the male took a step back, which alarmed kenny, making her think he was scared of her.
"I didn't mean to scare you, sir. I was just wondering, could you tell me where am i, exactly?" she asked with a cautious voice while looking around.
for a moment, she forgot her clothes were soaked wet and it made her even more uncomfortable when she had to walk towards him.
"mmh well... you're in narnia."
kenny looked down to her clothes and shook the sand in an annoyed manner. whoever controls or manages this place could have just dropped her in another place but said, not today sweetie and laughed to her face while throwing her into the water, letting her dive into it. she looked up after she got her answer but it wasn't the one she expected.
narnia? what is narnia?
the brunette couldn't remember hearing anyone name that. kenny supposed it was this place's name as he couldn't be naming a tree but she couldn't hide her confused expression, neither wipe it off. and the dwarf seemed to notice it and, to her delight, explained more clearly.
