𝐈𝐓'𝐒 𝐁𝐄𝐄𝐍 almost a year since kenny first entered this unknown world. eleven months in the ones she got to know more about the strange creatures she once barely knew about, tried new things such as food, and clothes, she finished her fighting practices, her skills with different weapons improved and discovered her hidden abilities.
kenny would occasionally forget about her own world, but she could only worry about the time. since kenny left eleven months ago, in her world, they would have left her for dead. the war probably had ended, and her state sure would be destroyed. but this was another world, anything could happen.
the brunette had many times tried to find a way back to her world, stayed for hours sitting on the beach waiting for a signal that she would never receive.
her training lasted so little time, because she had put all her will and effort into it, that the moment came when she no longer made any mistakes and everyone thought that it would no longer be necessary to continue training her and they just helped her to improve her performance.
the king and queen were out at archeland visiting their trade friends, and both announced that after they came back, a banquet would take place at the castle. mainly, important people from archeland and narnia were to attend, including kenny.
many people knew she was their soon-to-be queen because no one knew how to keep their mouths shut.
it was just a rumour, and she felt as if this party, taking place in september, was the right occasion to finally announce it. when it arrived, she'd commemorate her first year there.
it was her day off, and not one came to bother her. she sat with a book in hand, her back resting against the old, dormant silver-apple tree. this book was named 'mythology in narnia'. marquin told her not to believe in everything written in it, but it was just him feeling embarrassed about his specie.
it was about creature's analysis; anatomy, nutrition, habits, ecosystems, etc. apart from that, it informed about magical places; spaces surrounded by magic. like one exact part of the forest, a chamber far from the cliff. she had one book waiting to be read about enchantments and spells, but there wasn't much. it was more like a simple parchment than a book.
magic was one of kenny's favourite topics. she felt connected to it in a strange way she couldn't decipher yet.
the garden she sat on wasn't the castle's. cair paravel had been named many times already, so she decided to take a little peek. nobody knew she was there, and although the castle wasn't forbidden, no one was really expected to go there as the structure was still under construction.
the garden was an ethereal looking place to just stare at. it wouldn't let you sleep on the beauty it contained. it made you forget the notion of time while looking at every flower, every fruit. lilies, lavenders, irises, "forget me not", snow drops, roses, jasmines, and more. that silver apple tree she was leaning on, some blaze maple trees, spring brought each one of those colourful leafs.
the green, sparkling grass was high enough to reach up to her calf, it was a pity there weren't more places like that.
the papers she had under her foot so they wouldn't fly away looked much more tempting than her book, so instead she closed it and read through the lines on the experiment.
