Ezra was doing Kaz's pacing for him, right beside the closed door of the ship's hold. She knew better than to interrupt Nina's work, she wasn't a Healer afterall, she needed every bit of concentration she could muster.
The girl could tell Kaz was itching to jump up and barge through the door, even with his more-busted-than-usual leg.
'Kaz, calm down, you're not helping anyone looking like that.'
'Like what?'
'Like you're about to knock everyone unconscious, then stab them through the head twice.'
'I don't look like that, I'm a perfectly civil person.' He said, while looking like he wanted to knock everyone unconscious then stab them through the head twice, no, thrice. His smouldering glare nearly burning a hole through the door.
'Just quit it, Nina will tell us when she's done. I'm sure Inej will be fine- No, Kaz Brekker, stay in your seat.'
Dirtyhands sneered at her, crossing his arms but staying put anyways. 'I do not take orders from utter children.'
'I'm a year younger than you, oh high and mighty boss. I'm checking on the others, you'd better still be sitting right here when I'm back.' Ezra's eyes flashed dangerously, threat of a long lecture obvious.
She stalked out of the hold, miraculously not stumbling.

Wylan was on the floor with his knees drawn up to his chest, face pale and clammy, right how she left him an hour ago.
'Hey, you alright?'
'...No.'
She sighed, turning away. Helvar was still hurling his guts up over the railing with every lurch of the vessel. Jesper stood stubbornly on the deck, staring moodily at the horizon.
'Is that- Oomen?' A struggling bound mass lying on the planks caught her eye, a pool of read seeping out from under him.
'Yeah, Rotty brought him up here.' Specht answered, 'Brekker's orders.'
'What's he going to do with him?'
'Hell if I know, he was supposed to deal with it.'
Ezra sighed, it was so unlike Kaz to leave loose ends like this untied. She turned and staggered back to the underbelly of the ship as it lurched forward on a particularly strong wave. Dammit.
'Kaaaaaz~ aren't you forgetting something? A certain... nuisance?' She put on her most infuriating grin and warbled.
He tore his gaze away from the closed door, eyes unfocused for just a fraction of a second, but Ezra most definitely caught it. 'Huh- Ah. I'll be right there.'
Ehehehhe, Ezra snickered under her breath, who knew Inej getting stabbed would send Kaz into such a funk? She'd never seen him so uncomposed before, not even when Jesper, his only other close acquaintance, if anyone were one, got beaten to an inch of his life two years ago. Ooh, could there be a special reason? Something a bit more... hearts and sparkles? Might be fun~
Her heart skipped a beat. Excitement and anticipation of a little mischief kicking in as she followed close behind Kaz's slightly uncertain footsteps.

A certain brunette was sprawled across the railings at the back of the Ferolind, watching the corpse bob around in red-dyed seawater, getting smaller and smaller and smaller.
'That wasn't interesting at all, our great leader is losing his touch.' She complained to an unwilling Wylan.
The poor boy's eyes were still wide as saucers. He'd almost protested out loud when assigned babysitting duty, for a fellow sixteen-year-old.
Ezra was almost a grown woman, she'd been surviving alone for most of her life, she'd been part of a gang for the last few years for goodness sake. Sure, she acted like a child sometimes, but it was a highly sadistic and creepy child. What could he do? Beside sit there frozen in terror that is.
'Hey, Wylan.'
'What!?' He nearly jumped put out of his skin at the sudden call.
'Want to help me with something?'
'... Can I say no?'
'Nope!'
That was how the firstborn son of one of Ketterdam's more successful businessmen found himself sorting through a pile of what seemed like dead leaves of different shades of brown.
'Shouldn't you be working or something of the sort?'
'Hmm? Nah.'
'So you're just going to nap?'
'Yup.'
'...'
'...'
Wylan sighed. The girl didn't seem that scary anymore.
