They sat there, plates empty and stomachs full all happy for once in this despairing universe. And to the Horror Gang, it almost felt like home.
Home...

"Hey guys!" Hiro yelled out as he saw the group, Makoto following behind him, still looking like he should be the protagonist.
"Mind if we join you?!" Hiro asked them, and even though no one had said anything, they still processed to come over to their table.

"Yeah sure!" Aoi said, her face full of doughnuts, happily enjoying the food and company.

"Hey Hiro" Dylan said plainly, the boy smiled back, happy to see his new friend, Makoto also joining in with the small greeting.
However, while all of this was lovely and encouraging, Cheyenne gave Dylan a warning side eyed look of 'I thought I told you not to trust anyone'. He gave one back saying, 'I don't, they trust me'. Cheyenne then gave him an understanding nod.

"Hey I have an idea!" Aoi said cheerfully, they all looked at her waiting. "Why don't we go to the pool?" She asked them, her eyes sparkling with light, like a child at a shop, looking at their favourite toy.

"But you just ate" Makoto reasoned with her. She nodded, knowing already.

"Yeah! That's why I need to burn off some calories" she said enthusiastically, hyping Luke up.

"YEAH! LET'S GO TO THE FUCKING POOL!" He yelled, pointing to the doors that would lead them there.
Hiro was next to join in with the excitement.

"Yeah! Let's go swimming!" He said, making a fist and throwing it in the air before heading to the exit of the cafeteria, some others joining while some stayed behind.
Cheyenne and Dylan that is. They gave each other a worried look and although Dylan didn't know what was going to happen next, he could guess it could be full of despair.
But no, instead of despair, it would be hope.

They had realised that Alex had wandered out of the room unnoticed to a empty classroom not far from the cafeteria, they both looked through the glass window of the door to see their friend talking to something they couldn't see, but they both knew what it was. They opened the door, making Alex turn in shock while shutting the laptop immediately only to see his friends, standing at the doorway.

"It's fine" Cheyenne said to him, smiling softly. "It's only us" she added.

"Yeah, we're not Genocide Jack" Dylan tried to joke, but hesitated slightly after to see if the serial killer was there.
Luckily, she wasn't, Cheyenne guessed she was probably pestering Byakuya.

"You okay?" Cheyenne asked, changing the subject suddenly to make sure that no pair of scissors would impale their flesh. Alex nodded, turning back to the computer and opened its lid.

"Sorry" He said to Alter Ego who was smiling on the screen, not bothered by what Alex had done.

"Don't worry" it said back in Chihiro's cheery voice, they looked past Alex to Cheyenne and Dylan, then back to Alex. "You should go hang out with them" Alter Ego suggested. Alex nodded then proceeded to close Alter Ego's lid, gently this time however. Then turned back to his friends with a weary smile.

"Where is everyone?" He asked the two other teens curiously.

"They're swimming" Cheyenne and Dylan answered in unison.

"Oh" Alex replied, "Even Luke?" He asked.

"Especially Luke" Dylan answered, "He Might hate doors but the pool, he loves" He said to Alex.

"Right" Alex replied, "Should we go?" He asked them.

"I don't mind" Dylan said, Cheyenne nodded then said:
