"The fuck" Dylan said, a little shake in his voice. Cheyenne sighed,"I guess the world doesn't want a romantic story.." she said,
"Cheyenne, I don't think right now is a good time to talk about a romantic story" Alex said, "I think now is a good time to find out what's going on" he said, "Dylan" he said into the darkness.
"Yeah" they heard,
"Can you try and get out of your seat without injuring yourself?" He asked,
"Yeah" Dylan replied, the next thing they heard was shuffling and footsteps. "Alright I'm out" Dylan said,
"Ok" Alex said, "Cheyenne your turn" he said,
"Alright" she said, "Dylan I apologise now if I stand on you" she said, they heard Dylan laugh and more shuffling,
"Woah!" Was the next thing they heard, followed by a small 'thump'.
"Cheyenne!" Alex shouted, "Are you alright?" a couple groans answered his question.
"Huh?" She said confused, "What, yeah, I'm fine" she said and lifted herself up. Without notice, he grabbed her arm and lifted her up, making Cheyenne's arms hurt a little. Once she was up completely, she could feel his hot breath on her face and neck, it was quite intimidating.
"Uhhh" Alex said after a second, letting go of Cheyenne which she sort of regretted. "You ok?" He asked,
"Yeah fine" Cheyenne replied and although they were in complete darkness, she could sense him turn away.
He didn't mean to grab that hard but he did it automatically. Cheyenne knew Alex had a crush on her, it was quite obvious and he had asked her before, however, she had rejected him, making her feel a little guilty. She wanted to say yes but, she just didn't think it was the right time, maybe when exams were over but for now she didn't need distractions.
"Ok" He said after the awkward silence, "Does anyone have a flashlight on their phone?" He asked.
"Yeah I do" Dylan said and heard him scramble in his blazer for his phone. A few moments later their eyes where blinded by a beam of light.
"Arrggg" the two of them said, shielding their eyes.
"Thanks" Cheyenne said, gesturing for them to follow her towards the outline of the door.
"Cheyenne" Alex asked, "Where are we going?" She stopped, making the rest of them bump into one another.
"Hey!" Dylan said,
"Sorry" Alex replied,
"What I was going to say was we're going to my locker"
"Why?" Dylan asked.
"Let's just say my collection of BATIM gadgets are going to come in handy" she said, they all heard her footsteps once more and they continued to followed. After a confused and silent journey to Cheyenne's locker they all stood around the little compartment, waiting for what was going to be revealed.
"Ah, here it is" Cheyenne said after rummaging through her pockets to find her locker key. They heard scraping as she tired to find the lock, the darkness really not helping her situation.
"Err, Where is it" Cheyenne kept saying the scraps becoming more frequent. Finally a 'click' and a small celebration from Cheyenne, she turned it and the locker opened, revealing strange, dark objects.
A chorus of "ooooos" and "aaaaaas" was heard as the locker opened, Cheyenne reached in a retrieved the devices that beeped and blinked with every movement.
"This" said Cheyenne, "Will help us see in the dark"
