I woke up in the morning with a sharp pain near my ribs and aches all over my body. Doing so much physical activity after so long was perhaps not the best idea I've had.

I stretched my arms above my head only to bring them sharply down again. I hissed in pain as I lifted my tank top to reveal a large purple bruise forming.

I lightly touched it, but even that pressure caused lots of pain. I sighed and grabbed a pair of baggy sweatpants and a baggy top to go for a shower.

I ended up spending half an hour in there trying to ease up some of the pain the fight from yesterday had caused.

After the shower I felt refreshed and ready for the day. But I couldn't do anything with painful ribs so I called my man Jeremy.

"Hey Jer, I need some help. And uh... Bring your medical kit. Thanks you're amazing!" I shouted down the line before hanging up so he couldn't about at me.

Twenty minutes later, when I was eating breakfast of Lucky Charms, the dark haired, asian guy I was waiting for rang the bell.

"Lemme have a look at you then?" He pushed me gently inside.

I led him to the living room where he set down his kit. I draped myself on the sofa before shuffling to get comfortable.

"Jeez Maddi! What did you let him do this time?" He exclaimed after assessing my injury.

"He caught me by surprise there was nothing I could have done!" I defended.

"Well to me it looks like you have crack the fourth and fifth ribs so I'll have to take you to the hospital to get them reset. Anything else?" he asked.

"Yeah take me to the hospital and then get me out as fast as you can." I replied.

I didn't particularly like hospitals after I saw my grandad die in one. He was my Pops.

"Okay let's go then!" he said gently helping my up so not to put to much strain on my body.

I painfully walked to his car and locked the house door before I left.

"Hey Davis going somewhere?" I heard Drew shout over the fence.

"What does it look like?" I snapped.

"Well it does look like you're going out but where are you going?" He smirked.

"I don't need to tell you."

"Sure you do." he said.

"And why should I tell you?" I asked.

"Because I'm coming with you." He chuckled as if it was the funniest thing he said.

"And why would I let you come with me?"

"Because you love me." He shrugged.

"Uh...no." I said shortly.

"Fine I'll just follow you around then." He smirked again.

"What are you? Some sick stalker?"

"Only for you." He winked. I huffed and ignored him. I got into the car.

"Drive." I ordered. Jeremy happily obliged. Drew always seems to piss me off. I was so engrossed in abusing Drew in my head that I didn't realise that we had reached the hospital.

I took a deep breath. "Let's go." Jeremy led me to the front desk and got me quickly admitted to the broken bone section. I wasn't actually paying attention.

When we finally got to the department I was already feeling queasy at the sight of all the sick people. The smell of the sterile floors and disinfectant assaulted my nose.
