BEEP. BEEP. BEEP.

I slammed my fist down onto my alarm clock. 6.30 was way too early to be awake for school. Plus I didn't need to be ready till 7.30. With that thought I closed my eyes again, hoping to catch a few more minutes sleep.

"Maddi. Maddi." I could hear someone call my name but it was too far away. Suddenly I was shaken and my eyes snapped open. I was greeted by Daniel's brown eyes.

"What are you doing here? I thought you were going to pick me up at 7.30?" I asked, groggily.

"It's 7.45. When I came to pick you up your mom said you were still in your room. I didn't think she meant you were sleeping!"

"Oh shit. We're going to be late. Shit. Shit. Shit." I cried, jumping out of bed and running to the bathroom. I didn't have time to have shower and as much as I hated it, I just changed my clothes. I quickly ran a brush through my hair, grabbing my school bag and coat before running down the stairs. I snatched an apple from the fruit bowl and hopped to the car, simultaneously pulling my boots on. Daniel was already sitting in the car, so he moment I pulled the door closed he drive off.

"That was some major multitasking. I'm tired now." I gasped.

"Maddi you just slept and you are already tired?" Daniel asked, confused.

"Well it was just a figure of speech. I'm not actually tired. But on the other hand I am hungry. This apple is not going to keep me till break. Urgh! This sucks." I slumped in my seat, scowling at my misfortune.

"We're here." Daniel called, as he parked in his usual place. I grabbed my bag and stomped off to my locker. I don't know what put me in such a bad mood, but right now I didn't want to talk to anyone.

"Hey Maddi! Wait up. What are you training for the marathon?" Daniel shouted from the corridor. I ignored him. Once I reached my locker I violently swung the door open and half heartedly stuff my books in my bag.

I was the first one to homeroom so I sat down in my usual place. I placed my head in my hands, hoping that it would relieve some of the headache. A muffin was placed on the table. I looked up to find Drew smiling at me.

"How... How did you know my favourite was raspberry and white chocolate?" I whispered.

"Lucky guess? I thought chocolate was too common." he answered shrugging his shoulders.

"Thank you." I told him truthfully. I unwrapped the muffin and began eating it. "Mm this is the best raspberry and white chocolate muffin I have ever tasted. Where did you get it from?" The muffin was seriously amazing.

"That is a secret place of mine. Maybe I'll take you one day." he winked and got up to sit behind me. By that time other people were coming into the classroom as the bell rang. Daniel skidded into the room, slightly out of breath. He rushed towards me, concern marring his face.

"Hey are you okay? You just rushed off and I couldn't find you." He rambled.

"I'm fine now. Was just in a bad mood because I didn't get to eat properly, but then I got a muffin and I'm good now." I explained, not wanting to tell him that Drew in fact gave it to me.

"Oh ok. I knew you were always hungry, just didn't know it would put you in a bad mood." He laughed and I force laughed too.

"Oh shit. I forgot to feed Casey this morning." I exclaimed.

Drew leaned forward. "I feed him this morning." he whispered.

I whipped around. "How did you know I hadn't fed him? Wait how did to know I have a dog?" I whispered fiercely back.
