"He is sensible,
And so incredible,
And all my single friends are jealous."My life was basically a living dream.
I had 5 amazing friends, Christina, Marlene, Lynn, Shauna and Lauren. We had sleepovers, and shopped and did what a normal teenager would do. We told each other secrets, and watched chick flicks, and gossiped.
My life was practically set. I was attending Princeton in the fall, barely had to pay tuition due to the multiple scholarships I tried hard for, and was graduating not at the top of my class, but with honors.
My home life was quite simple too. My parents were politicians, and would leave around 8 in the morning and return around 5 each night. We ate together, along with my brother, and then watched Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy as a family before I retreated to my room for homework and other things.
While all of this was great, the thing I enjoyed the most, was Al. My boyfriend. He was unlike any other guy I've ever known. He was incredible. Loving, caring, thoughtful, Christina told me on more than one occasion that if she wasn't already dating Will, she would steal him from me. Lauren also seemed distant, maybe even, jealous, whenever he was around.
He was amazing, and my life was complete with him. He was the one thing I needed to help me get out of the hole I had dug for myself with my last boyfriend, Tobias.
I had thought for sure that he was the one, but even with all the love, it never seemed enough.
But I didn't need him; Al was the one that was sensible, and caring. He gives me everything I've ever wanted.
But sometimes, the one thing you want, you can't get because it has to be someone else to give it to you.
