Prompt: Family Dinner
Dinner was scarcely a peaceful time. The kids often bickering amongst themselves all the time. This night however, everyone was just exhausted. It had been a busy day for them all. That's why Bruce clearing his throat slightly startled them.
"So," he said, "Marinette and I wanted to ask you kids something."
Everyone at the table turned to listen. Quite a lot of people were there. The boys - Dick, Jason, Tim, Damian, and Duke - and the girls - Barbara, Cass, and Steph. Marinette held Bruce's hand tightly, she could tell Bruce was trying to hide the fact that he was nervous. Keyword: trying.
"Boys, I want you to be my groomsmen," Bruce stated.
Marinette joined, opening her mouth, "And girls, be my bridesmaids?"
Dick as would be expected jumped up and screamed his answer, "Yes! Yes!"
He walked over to his adoptive father and gave the man a hug.
Jason was surprised. He didn't expect that. He probably had the worst relationship with the man amongst everyone. He tried to hide his disbelieve but it was obviously not working. He turned to Bruce and just nodded. Damian and Tim tried to hide their excitement, but their joy was obviously written on their faces. If not on their lips, in their eyes.
Steph, like Dick, jumped out of her seat and hugged her mother figure.
"Yes!" she shouted, "I'm honored."
Barbara and Cass smiled widely and joined in the hug.
"I'd love to, Mar," Barbara answered while Cass nods.
"This wedding is gonna be the best wedding of the century!"
