"It's okay." Amaya's voice was shaky.
"Hey, are you alright?"
"Yeah, I'm just a little nervous I guess. I'm not really a people person."
"Oh right. You'll get along well with Axel then."
"The one with the split-dyed hair? He seems cool." With every step we took, I could see the anxiety taking over Amaya. I took her hands in mine and looked her dead in the eye. "It's okay," I reassured her. "They're just stupid teenage boys, they can't hurt you." She flashed a small, swift grin and I pulled her in for a hug. Placing my hand on the rusty door handle, I gave her one last comforting smile. "After you."
