I opened my eyes to a hospital cubicle ceiling. I tried to sit up and a familiar voice told me to stay put. Nick Fury was sitting on a chair beside the bed. He put his finger to his lips and then pointed to the outside of the curtain. I looked below the curtain and saw combat boots. I nodded to him. He tapped out something on his phone and showed it to me.

>You're in medical centre under guard.
>Trying to get Buck released.
>They've frozen all his bank accounts but I know he has a hidden one. Do you know about it?

I shook my head no.

>They've taken his arm. Wakanda may be able to get it back if they file a lawsuit claiming it is a loan.
>Buck said he thinks this has to do with Larson but I think the Group is behind this. Can you contact Oeznik?

I held my hand out for his phone.

>He usually contacted us but if you get word to Zemo at Raft?

He nodded and motioned for his phone.

>Play the upset wife as much as possible. Stay strong. We're fighting this with all resources.

At the first sentence I made a face and mouthed the words – not hard.

>Wanda has offered to make it possible for you to talk but if they found out ... ?
>I'm sorry. Not doing a good job of protecting valuable asset and good man.

I made the namaste sign with my hands. He erased all the messages then stood up and went to the curtain. He turned and winked at me then spoke as he exited.

"She's awake now. You might want to have her checked out by the doctor before you kick her and her dogs out.

"Thank you, Mr. Fury," said an unknown voice. "We'll take that under advisement. Now, if you'll let us do our job."

A man I had never seen before walked into the cubicle and I didn't like him the moment I saw him. He pulled the chair close to the bed and sat in it.

"Mrs. Barnes, I'm John Burns, special prosecutor for the United States government. I'm here to advise you that I intend to seek the death penalty for the charges that your husband will be found guilty of. If you agree to testify against your husband we will commute that to life imprisonment which means your husband will spend the next 100-200 years in prison depending on how long a super soldier actually lives. We can even arrange conjugal visits if your husband agrees to see you after you testify against him."

"You can go fuck yourself, Mr. Burns," I said.

He stood up with a smirk on his face.

"Such foul words from such a pretty face. No wonder he married you," he said. "By the way, I believe we have a mutual friend. My fraternity brother remembers you from a party about five years ago. Michael Woodrow said to say hi."

"Get out before I kick you in the balls you bottom feeder," I spat at him.

He laughed an ugly laugh and told the guard to cut me loose. Michael Woodrow was the name of one of my rapists. I felt sick and wanted to throw up but the only place I could do it was in the garbage can. I threw up everything in my stomach then bile, then blood before the doctor came in. He called a code and helped me back onto the bed. An unknown nurse came in and took my shirt and leggings off then put a hospital gown on me. I felt hot and lightheaded and started crying. Nick had said to play the upset wife but I wasn't playing. My world was falling apart and so was I. A commotion outside drew my attention and I heard Bruce's voice.

"She's my patient and I'm going to examine her. If you have a problem with that I'll let you talk to the Hulk."

He came into the cubicle and the other doctor and nurse withdrew.
