A/N: BECCA I NAMED A CHARACTER AFTER YOU ILY BB

luke wondered why michael hadn't texted him back.

they were supposed to hang out at michael's house, michael was supposed to pick him up at six.

luke brushed it off, michael was probably just taking a nap, just like he had done in the past. his mum was off, so he decided to ask her if she could give him a ride to michael's house.

"mum? can you take me over to michael's? i think he's asleep, like he was last time." luke asked as he walked into her bedroom, where she was putting makeup on.

"sure, babe. i actually have to go somewhere, so i'll take you over there first." she told him as she blended her foundation.

"thank you. where do you need to go?" he asked, pulling the chair she had at her computer desk over to her vanity and sitting next to her.

"i'm going to the mall with your aunt becca, she's going to help me pick out some of your birthday presents." she said, applying eyeliner.

luke loved his aunt becca. she wasn't actually his aunt, she was liz's best friend and they were very close, like sisters, so he called her his aunt. after luke's dad left when he was four, becca moved in with liz and luke to help out. she worked during the day some days, and had day classes on others while liz worked at night, and on other days she had night classes, so becca would watch him. luke loved it, she would let him stay up late and they would cuddle while they watched tv, or they'd bake different kinds of sweets. she loved him, and she wanted to do anything to keep her nephew's mind off his dad, and it would kill her and liz whenever he would cry and ask where his daddy was, or why he left. luke truly loved his daddy at that age and he didn't understand why he didn't live with him and his mummy anymore. but liz and becca made sure that luke had a great childhood, and when luke got older, he appreciated it. he didn't have very many people in his family, but the ones he did have loved him very much. and he loved them.

"i love becca, i'm offended that i wasn't invited." luke said as he looked through one of his mum's makeup bags, wondering why she needed so much of it.

"well, dummy, you weren't invited because we're shopping for you." she told him, laughing.

"i'd probably just forget what you bought me. if i even paid attention to it in the first place." he replied.

luke wasn't the biggest fan of shopping, unless it was at hot topic, or a music store.

"it's a girls day, sorry love." she said, putting the cap back on her lipstick.

"rude." luke said. "are you done yet?"

"i am. i'm ready if you are." she said, grabbing her purse.

"let's go." luke said, making his way outside.

they got in the car, liz turning it on and pulling out the driveway, heading toward michael's house. he only lived about seven minutes away, so the ride wasn't long.

liz pulled into michael's neighborhood, stopping in front of his house.

"thank you for taking me. have fun with becca, tell her i love her." luke said, giving his mum a hug.

"have fun with mikey, i love you." she told him, kissing his cheek.

"i love you too, bye mum!" luke told her as he got out of the car.

luke walked up michael's driveway, noticing an unfamiliar car. he figured it was probably a family member or something.

he opened the door and walked in, since he and michael did that at each other's houses. it looked like no one was home, and he wondered whose sandals were by the door.
