"Natalia, we need to talk."

"Seriously? I think we've done that already" Natalia spat, secretly wiping the single tear away and pretending she had never shed it.

"I'm serious, Natalia. I don't want to argue anymore" Aurelia told her and Natalia simply scoffed, running her tongue along the inside of her cheek as she shook her head.

"And I was serious when I said I never wanted to see your face again, never mind hear all the shit you talk" Natalia told her and Aurelia stayed silent, not knowing what to say to get Natalia to listen to her.

"Take me back to the mansion, and do it in the shortest time possible, please" Natalia told the driver and the sound of the engine revving up caught Aurelia's attention.

"No, wait- don't start the car" Aurelia told the driver, a sense of authority in her voice that she only used in important business meetings.

"Are you being serious?" Natalia scoffed, looking at Aurelia, who had a downcast look on her face. "Start the car, I'll pay you double."

"Call your price and I'll have it in your bank account by tomorrow morning."

Natalia looked at Aurelia with a confused yet frustrated expression. She thought her night couldn't get worse, but being locked in a car with her sly mother seemed to be the icing on the top of the cake.

"Why do you have to be such a bitch?" Natalia spat, and for once Aurelia's expression turned solemn. Like she cared what Natalia thought about her.

With a venomous look on her face, Natalia got up and sat on the seat just behind the drivers' seat. Withdrawing her knife from the holster on her leg, she held it to his throat, the sharp edge just grazing his neck.

"Drive. I don't want to have to find a new driver" Natalia told him and she could sense him gulp by the movement of her knife. He meekly nodded his head as Natalia retrieved her knife and placed it back in her holster, strapped to her thigh.

Aurelia could hear the engine start again, a sound that she had been waiting for. But, now that Natalia was beside her- she feared it.

"Do you always have to use violence?" Aurelia asked, her face showing no emotion as Natalia shrugged.

"It gets me what I want, why shouldn't I?" Natalia told her, turning her head to the side and resting her chin on the palm of her hand, taking in the sight of the vibrant nightlife.

As the limousine reared out of the parking spot and onto the road, Aurelia knew she had to speak up- or she would forever regret it.

"Natalia, we still need to talk-" Aurelia started but was cut off as Natalia groaned, rolling her eyes.

"No, I don't think we do. I've said all I wish to say, unless you want it repeating since it obviously didn't go through your thick fucking skull."

Aurelia gulped. She knew it would be hard. Just not this hard.

"I'm serious, Natalia" Aurelia told her and Natalia turned to look at her with a deadly gaze.

"And so am I" Natalia told her, but before she could turn around and ignore Aurelia's existence- she spoke once more.

"Someone's after me."

That wasn't what Natalia expected.

"What?" Natalia spoke, gobsmacked before she reminded herself of her mother's psychotic behaviour.

"Wait, is this like the part you tell me you have cancer, but you don't actually, and just want to make me feel guilty for everything I did?"

Aurelia looked towards the floor. She knew it would be hard for Natalia to trust her- she just wished that she did for this single moment.
