Death. It can ruin even the brightest and purest of souls. The fact that, one day, your heart will stop beating and you will take your final breath.

You can prolong it as long as you want, but, no matter how hard you try- death is inevitable.

People spend their lives waiting until they are guided into the darkness, perhaps before their life has even started.

As dark and depressing as it may seem; the only promise you get in life is death. That your life will cease and expire, your once youthful body laying as a corpse under the ground.

But, the worst thing about death is the impact it has on those who love you.

They are left with a hole in their life, a void that no one can fill apart from them. It's like they feel empty, unable to experience how they felt before- when that person was still by their side.

There are many bonds you can share with people in your life, from a sisterly bond, to a motherly bond, to a platonic bond and even a rare soulmate bond.

But, no matter what, you will never share the same bond with another person- it's a rare connection that only those two people could ever reciprocate or understand.

And, losing that bond can leave you with a hole in your life that can never be filled again.

So, the crushing fact of losing that part of you can leave you in pieces.

And every person chooses to pick up their pieces in a different way...

"Enzo, are you serious?" Estela mumbled, walking up to Enzo as he stumbled along.

Leonardo followed behind her, hand placed against the small of her back. Ines noticed and immediately held Arabella's hand, guiding her closer to the ceremony and away from where her mother and father were heading.

"Hey, sis- how's it going?" Enzo asked, slurring his words as he continued to sway. Just as he took another step, he fell forwards slightly, forcing Estela to catch him and almost fall over under his body weight.

"You're a mess, Enzo" Estela muttered as Leonardo helped him to a standing position, though he was the only thing keeping him from falling over again.

"Well, you're enough sunshine for the both of us, Stel" Enzo spoke, burping after he finished his sentence as Estela rolled her eyes, stiffening as she noticed the crowd just outside the perimeter of the grounds.

"You fucking stink" Estela told him, noticing the pungent stench of alcohol as she linked one of her arms around his, attempting not to draw attention to themselves.

"Get off me, I'm fine" Enzo told her but Estela didn't let go. She knew that if she did he would face plant, and he would wake up to him being on the front cover of a magazine. He didn't need that right now.

"No, you're not" Estela told him but he grabbed Estela's hand, forcing her to let go of him.

"I told you, I'm fine" Enzo spat just as Leonardo walked in between them, two hands against Enzo's chest as he forced him to back away from Estela.

"Don't speak to her like that, she's only trying to help" Leonardo spat, more or less dragging Enzo away as he couldn't stand under his own body weight.

"You need to go home and sober up-" Leonardo told him but Enzo quickly interrupted him.

"Fuck off, it's my mother's funeral, I'm staying- I don't give a fuck what you want" Enzo spoke, ripping himself from Leonardo's grip and his voice starting to raise slightly.

"Look, you're not in the right state, I'm doing you a favour. If you end up doing something you regret now, it will end up haunting you" Leonardo told him and Enzo just gritted his teeth, opting not to say anything as he knew Leonardo was right.
