One week later- 8th January:

"Are you fucking kidding me?" Natalia moaned as she picked up a piece of burnt bacon, practically black.

She walked over in a huff and disposed of it before putting the rest of the food on the plate. Natalia brushed off her hands, looking at the masterpiece she had made.

Well, Natalia did make it harder work than it actually was, but she was still proud of herself nonetheless.

She glanced outside to see the streets were bustling. Yes, a safe house in the middle of a busy street in Colombia may not sound like the best idea- but there were so many people that this house would just look normal.

Besides, no one knew were they were and they had left no trace, unless Amara or Azaiah spilled some drunken secrets.

The streets were full of colour and culture and everyone was pretty friendly. Every weekend there would be a huge party down in the centre of the community, bursting with colour and food that Natalia could literally smell from a mile away.

She'd love to go there, but she was under lockdown for now, not even allowed to step a foot outside. Fuck, how she had missed fresh air.

Natalia was too distracted by the captivating view that she was took by surprise when she felt two strong arms wrap around her waist.

"Morning, amore."

Natalia felt Elias slowly start to plant kisses on her neck, trapping her between the counter and his body.

"I'm supposed to be giving you breakfast in bed" Natalia told him and Elias chuckled, his breath fanning her neck.

"I can go back to bed if you want" Elias spoke, his raspy morning voice never failing to turn Natalia on.

Suddenly, Natalia turned around, cupping his cheeks in her hand and pulling his lips towards hers, connecting them. She let her hands get lost in his hair as he moved his body closer to hers, giving her no way of backing out.

As the gap between them closed, a hiss escaped Elias' mouth and he stepped back slightly.

"What is it? Did I hurt you?" Natalia asked, voice full of concern as she created a gap between her and Elias.

"No, I'm fine" Elias told her and Natalia could tell he was trying to hide the fact he was in pain.

"Sit down, I need to take a look at your wound" Natalia told him and Elias groaned slightly before obeying and sitting on the sofa.

Elias never liked to admit he was hurting, but he found it hard to lie to Natalia because, even if he did lie- she'd figure out the truth soon enough.

Natalia knelt down next to the side of the sofa as Elias sat there, slouched slightly. She lifted up his shirt to reveal the dressing on his lower abdomen, covered with a small amount of liquid.

"I need to take the dressing off" Natalia told him as she got up and went to the kitchen, grabbing a pair of scissors, rubbing alcohol and more dressing before returning.

"You're going to use kitchen scissors?" Elias asked, staring at her in disbelief as Natalia disinfected the scissors with the rubbing alcohol.

"We don't exactly have a first aid kit lying around, do we?" Natalia reminded him before cutting into the bandage, revealing a ghastly looking wound.

Natalia knew what a bullet wound looked like, and it wasn't anywhere close to what this resembled.

"It's infected" Natalia told him and Elias just looked at her with furrowed brows.
