Location: Turbolift

Jim leads Carolynn and himself into the lift. They're on their way to the bridge.

"Perfect hair? Only if he knew the amount of time James Tiberius spends in front of the mirror." Carolynn mocks Jim's action of fixing his hair.

Jim rolls his eyes and grabs her sides tickling her. Carolynn squeals and laughs. "James, stop." All in vain.

"You can't deny facts, Baby." Jim whispers into her ears and captures her lips in a sloppy kiss.

Location: Enterprise Bridge

"Are you out of your corn-fed mind? You're not actually going to listen to this guy? He killed Pike. He almost killed you. And now you think it's a good idea to pop open a torpedo because he dared you to." Bones chastises Jim as, Jim, Spock, and Bones talk about the torpedoes. Carolynn is back at her station.

"Why did he save our lives, Bones?" Jim says to prove his point.

"The Doctor does have a point, Captain." Spock says.

"Don't agree with me, Spock. It makes me very uncomfortable." Bones says walking behind Spock.

"Perhaps you, too, should learn to govern your emotions, Doctor. In this situation, logic dictates-" Spock is cut off.

"Logic? Oh, my God! There's a maniac trying to make us blow up our own damn ship and you talk about-" Bones begins to talk in paranoia.

Jim looks at Carolynn in misery, who in response shakes her head disapprovingly and butts in. "We." She says making the men along with a few others on the bridge look at her. She then continues talking, without leaving her spot, "Are gradually shifting from the topic in hand, gentelmen." She smiles.

It was as if everyone on the Bridge could feel the reflection of Admiral Pike in her. Getting the matter in hand taken care of with utmost calmness.

"That's not it." Jim says to Bones and Spock, getting back to the matter in hand. "I don't know why he surrendered, but that's not it. Look, we're going to open a torpedo. The question is how." Jim's walking away, facing Carolynn at a distance.

"But Jim, without Mister Scott on board, who exactly is qualified to just pop open a four ton stick of dynamite?" Bones asks.

"I can." Carolynn says looking dead into Jim's eyes. Who looks down, finally thinking about the consequences. Now when knows that Carolynn is gonna involve herself.

"The Admiral's daughter appeared to have interest in the torpedoes, and she is a weapons specialist. Perhaps she could be of some use alongside Lynn." Spock says. Jim and Carolynn furrow their brows.

"What Admiral's daughter?" Jim asks turning back.

"Carol Marcus. Your new science officer concealed her identity to board the ship." Spock says.

"When were you going to tell me that?" Jim asks.

"When it became relevant. As it just did." Spock deadpannes.

"Captain, we can't open a torpedo here aboard the ship. But, we surely can open one up on a nearby planetoid. I suggest you have a word with Doctor Marcus and see if she has a better solution." Carolynn says, startling Jim with her formal behaviour.

Jim leaves the bridge to talk Carol Marcus.

A few minutes later, Jim's voice is heard over comms.

"Kirk to bridge. Lieutenant Pike and Doctor McCoy, please report to the shuttle bay."

Both Carolynn and Bones looks at eachother. A sly smirk on her features. A horrified one on his.
