"Commander, I have that transmission as requested." Uhura says making Spock turn around in his chair.
"On screen, please." Spock says.
"Stand by." Uhura responds.
Carolynn furrows her brows at the couple, but looks at the screen regardless.
"Mister Spock." Spock Prime appears on screen.
"Mister Spock." Spock greets.
Spock Prime looks around the bridge and says, "Good to see all of you once again, and of course you, Mrs. Kirk." He ends his speech glancing at Carolynn.
Spock Prime sees Carolynn's eyes widen. A small blush creeps up her face as she glances here and there. "Oh you two are not married yet. My apologies." The old man says.
"Good to see you too, Spock." Carolynn says after clearing her voice awkwardly.
"I believe you have a favor to ask of me." Spock Prime says making Carolynn turn towards Spock.
"I will be brief. In your travels, did you ever encounter a man named Khan?" Spock asks.
Spock Prime shakes his head a few times and says, "As you know, I have made a vow never to give you information that could potentially alter your destiny. Your path is yours to walk, and yours alone."
He glances at his feet, and then continues, "That being said, Khan Noonien Singh is the most dangerous adversary the Enterprise ever faced. He is brilliant, ruthless, and he will not hesitate to kill every single one of you."
"Did you defeat him?" Spock asks.
"At great cost. Yes." Spock Prime sighs
"How?" Carolynn asks and listens to the man explain, with wide eyes.
The transmission ends, leaving both Carolynn and Spock in thought. They glance at each other and nod in agreement.
Spock stands up and walks to Uhura and says, "Lieutenant, I need you to assemble all senior medical and engineering staff in the weapons bay."
Uhura swims her gaze across the face and then agrees, "All right."
Spock turns towards Bones and says, "Dr. McCoy, you inadvertently activated a torpedo. Could you replicate the process?"
This makes Bones scoff, "Why the hell would I want to do that?"
"Can you or can you not?" Spock repeats his question.
"Yes of course he can. I'll be there as well." Carolynn adds.
"Damn it, man, I'm a doctor, not a torpedo technician!" Bones says, clearly frustrated.
"And that's exactly why I need you to listen very carefully." Carolynn mutters walking out of the bridge into the the turbolift. Spock and Bones follow her wordlessly.
"What exactly am I supposed to do, Lynn?" Bones asks.
"You'll pull Khan's crew out of the torpedoes. Mind you, the cryotubes mustn't be tampered with." Carolynn explains as the three make their way to the weapons bay.
"And what then?" Bones asks as Carolynn stands in front of the engineering staff.
"Guys, we're arming the damn torpedoes." Carolynn says and orders the crew to get to work.
"We're what?! Dammit Jim, you've spoiled the good woman." Bones mutters and gets to work, instructing the medical staff through the process.
