Around 5:30 that morning, I could hear my phone go off on the edge of the desk beside my bed. The sound of it vibrating woke me up almost instantly. I tried reaching over to grab it, but I could barely move. Craig was still sound asleep with his head on my chest and his arms around me. His mouth was wide open and drool had been leaking onto my shirt. His snoring was pretty loud too. He must've been really tired because I had never seen him sleep like that before in the 10 years I had known him.

Shit. I don't want to wake him up.

I tried easily wiggling away from him, but every time I moved even an inch, he hugged me even tighter. He just wouldn't let go. I had no choice but to just lay there and let my phone go to voice mail.

Eventually after several minutes of trying to escape Craig's grasp, I finally was able to scoot close enough to the edge of the bed to where I could pick up my phone. I went into my missed calls and saw the name Park County Schools. I clicked on the voicemail and held it up to my ear so I could hear what the lady was saying on the prerecord message.

"All Park County Schools will be closed due to bad weather on Thursday, November 11th."

A snow day. We barely had them in South Park considering that it snowed all the time. But every now and then, the weather would get so bad to the point that we'd be advised to not leave the house. It just so happens that the day I was hiding Craig up in my room, school got canceled.

I tried tossing my phone back over onto my desk, but I wasn't able to see because of the darkness. I completely missed and my phone went plummeting to the floor, making a very loud thump.

Craig's head shot up as he gasped in fear. I could feel his whole body quiver up against mine.

"What was that?" he asked as he looked around the room. "Why can't I see anything?"

"I...I dropped my phone.. I'm s-sorry...and it's still dark outside. It's only like 5:30 in the morning, so that's why you can't see."

He sighed in relief and put his head back down on my chest.

"Thank god that wasn't your mom. That scared the shit out of me. And who the hell would be calling you this early?"

"It was the just superintendent. School's canceled today because of how bad the snow is."

"Oh."

"Yeah."

Craig lifted his head back up off of me and looked up at me. I couldn't see him, but I could tell he was staring at me because I could feel his breath up against my face. I knew he couldn't see me either, but that didn't stop me from smiling at him.

"Oh uh..sorry," he apologized as he rolled off of me and laid on his back, setting his head up on the pillow next to mine. "I didn't mean to fall asleep on you like that. Sorry if I crushed your chest."

"Oh...you're fine. I uh...I was fine," I said sadly. I didn't want him to move away from me. I was more than okay with him laying on me.

Maybe I made it awkward, for Craig didn't say anything back. He just laid there half asleep as he breathed slowly up and down. I could see his face a little bit more clearly than I could before considering that he was now closer to the window. The streetlights and moon shone back into my room, lighting up his side of the bed.

His eyes were fixated on my ceiling.

I poked him on the side of his arm to get his attention.

"What are you looking at?" I asked.

"Your ceiling."

"Yeah no shit Sherlock. I meant like...what are you looking at that's on my ceiling?"
