Dylan and I just pulled up to the diner, where Blake told us to meet him and Ben, and Dylan is about to hyperventilate. She looks like she is in serious need of a brown paper bag right now.

"Why did I think I could do this? I can't do this, Harper! What if I make a fool out of myself?" She says with her hands on her face.

I slowly pull her hands away from her face and make her look me in the eye. "It will be okay. There must be a reason for Blake to ask you out! He must like you back! Plus, when he went to get your grand slam ball because he thought you would want to keep it, was really sweet of him. Just be your amazing self, and everything will be fine."

Dylan gives me a small smile with a light blush. "Yeah, it was really sweet of him, wasn't it? I'm sorry I dragged you into this. At least Ben is super handsome!"

"I would have to agree with you on that one and he seems like he is nice! Let's get inside before we make the boys wait any longer!" I open the passenger door and get out of the car. I make sure Dylan is following me into the diner, and open the door. I spot Blake waving us down and walk over to the booth. Blake is sitting on one side of the booth while Ben is sitting on the other, making Dylan and I sit next to each of them. The waitress come around and got our drink order and left us with an awkward silence.

It was then that Blake spoke to Dylan. "I still can't believe you hit a grand slam! That was so awesome to see!"

Dylan blushes and smiles. "I wouldn't have been able to hit it if Harper didn't give me a heads up on the pitch being called. I was totally not looking for a change-up, so I'm really glad I heard you on second, Harp!"

I give Dylan a salute and then Ben interjects. "You picked up on my sister's sign to the pitcher while you were on second base?" I nod my head shyly, hoping I didn't offend Ben. "Man, I'm going to have to remind her to mix it up when there are runners on base. She is only a Sophomore and this is her first year on varsity. I will relay the information, but I'll make sure to leave out who picked up on her sign." Ben sends me a wink.

"Thanks! I don't want her hating me!" I reply gratefully.

"From what I have seen, I would be really hard to hate anything about you." Ben says confidently. I, instantly, feel my cheeks heat up at the compliment.

"Aww, Harper, you are blushing!" Dylan calls me out. I just send her a glare. The waitress comes back with our drinks and we order our food. After the waitress leaves, I see Blake strike up a conversation with Dylan and I turn to Ben to do the same.

"So, are you a Senior?"

"Yup! I'm ready to graduate!" He answers.

"I wish I was ready to graduate. I don't exactly know what my next step is after graduation, and I'm still trying to figure it out." I say honestly. "Do you know what you are going to do?"

"Yeah, I was scouted by the community college to play baseball. So I'm going to go there my first two years and get my general studies out of the way."

"That's awesome! What position do you play?" I ask curiously.

He laughs a little and says, "Actually, I thought it was ironic when Blake pointed you out to me. I play third base too!"

"Well, if all else falls, at least we have that in common to talk about." Before Ben replies, our food is brought to our table and while we eat, Ben and I make small talk and get to know each other a little better. By the time we finish our meals, the conversation between Ben and I slow down, but Blake and Dylan are still deep in conversation.

"Hey, I drove Blake and I here. Do you want me to give you a ride home so these two can keep talking?" Ben asked me.

"Uh, sure. Let me just check with Dylan first." He nods in understanding. "Hey Dylan, you think you could give Blake a ride home? Ben said he will give me a ride home and we didn't want to interrupt you guys."
