Detectives Delia Coolman and Thomas Langdon got out of the car and headed up the stairs into the precinct. Delia sat down at her desk and went through some of the papers as she turned her computer on. Thomas brought her some coffee and sat down at the desk in front of her. He watched her for a minute until she looked up at him. Delia raised her eyebrow and went back to her computer, typing her password in. "I'm bored." Thomas groaned. "Seriously? Its been 48 hours since we cracked our last case and your already bored?" Delia gave a short laugh. Thomas nodded his head and twirled in his chair. "Me too." Delia admitted and started typing the rest of her report once her old ass computer came around. Thomas smirked and twirled around in his seat some more.
Once Delia finished her report, she printed it out, and stapled it together. She stood up and grabbed her coffee mug. "You want another?" She motioned to his mug. Thomas nodded as he flipped through some papers. "Yes please. A muffin too if you please?" He smiled innocently. Delia nodded as she took his mug and headed up the stairs to the inspectors office. She set the mugs down on coffee table and knocked on the inspectors door. "Come in." he called out. Delia pushed the door open and held up the papers. "Got your papers boss." The Inspector nodded and waved her in. "Come in, come in." He smiled and shuffled through some papers. "Sorry it took so long to finish it, I've been going through a lot these past 48 hours. That missing persons case really messed with my brain." Delia attempted a smile. Inspector Riggs smiled. "I know Delia. It's okay. Thank you for writing it anyways." He stood and took the papers, putting them in a file drawer. "But I have one more thing for you.." Riggs trailed out as he went through the files. He pulled one out that had maybe 1 or 2 papers. "I have another case for you." He gave a sympathetic smile and held it out to Delia. Delia stared at it for a minute. Inspector noticed the hesitation and cleared his throat. "It's not a missing persons case. A murder case. Local department wants you down there ASAP." Riggs nodded as Delia took the file. She gave him and reassuring smile and shook his hand. "Thank you Inspector. We'll get on this case ASAP." She took her hand back and went to walk out the door. "Coolman." Riggs called before she walked out. Delia turned around and pushed her hair back out of her face. "There's a team at standby if you need it, and a private jet to fly you to Washington. There, you'll meet with the Seattle department and look at the crime scenes." Inspector nodded and Delia gave him a thumbs up. "I'll let Langdon know and we'll get our bags packed and be back in a day or two." Delia confirmed. Riggs smiled and saluted her. "That's my girl. Don't rush back. We need to crack down on this case as fast as possible. And if you need anything at all, I'm a phone call away." Delia smiled and nodded her head. "Thank you Inspector."
Delia rushed back down stairs and threw the file at Thomas as she grabbed her coat and hat. She slipped it on and grabbed the Mustangs keys. "We gotta get to the airport as soon as possible." She said blankly to Thomas. Thomas nodded and grabbed his coat too. "Seattle?" He raised his eyebrow and trotted alongside Delia. "Yeah, the victim was senator Jessica Harlem's daughter. Born and raised here in Montana." She looked at Thomas to see that his face had gone pale and his jaw hit the floor. "Close your mouth and let's act like professionals." She teased as they got in the car. Coolman started it and started towards her house first since it was closest. "We're gonna stop at my house first. Gotta grab a bag. Do you need to stop at home?" Delia said as she pulled into the driveway. "Well, I don't really have a home anymore." He smiled. Delia sucked in her teeth and nodded. "Kenzie kicked you out finally?" Thomas nodded. "My own daughter. I'm the only parent she's got left and she kicks me out!" he complained. "Well Thomas.." Delia scolded. "She's 18 and finally got her own apartment awayyyy from you. That's the whole point of her moving out." Delia teased. Thomas rolled his eyes and shook his head. "I'll grab you some of the clothes John left behind. You guys have the same build." She said as she got out and slammed the door, making her way inside. "Great. I get the ex-boyfriend's clothes." He mumbled.
When Delia came back out she locked her door and called one of her friend's to check in tomorrow and the day after is she needed them too. She threw the duffle bags in the backseat and started the car. "Ready for a little murder?" Delia asked. "Are you a rocket scientist?" Thomas asked back. Delia raised her eyebrow and took a minute to comprehend that. "You know what, don't answer that." He retorted. Delia smirked and they drove north towards the airport.
