Home At Last.

we all tried our hardest to seem extremely surprised when we walked in. i scooped up noah and hugged him while tyler did the same with caroline. kelly and i made eye contact and winked at each other.

"we missed you!" noah exclaimed. caroline nodded in agreement.

"we missed you too, kiddos. did you drive grandma up the wall?" i replied. kelly chuckled.

"they were angels, honestly. except for the few times they got super upset because they missed you guys so much." she told us.

"well, we have very exciting news." tyler said, setting caroline down. i decided to set noah down as well.

"we're gonna be home for a long time now." i announced. pure excitement flooded the twins' faces. they immediately hugged us.

"wow, no love for uncle josh and aunt debby? i see how it is." josh joked from behind us. when the kids noticed their Godparents (yes. Godparents.) they went to hug them immediately.

kelly left shortly after we arrived, telling us that she wanted the six of us to spend time together after being gone so long. once she left, josh, tyler, debby, noah, and i decided to order pizza and watch a movie. however, we could not agree on a movie.

"frozen!" caroline suggested. noah looked disgusted.

"no! we will not watch that." noah established. frozen was caroline's favorite movie. but noah strongly disliked it. there was only one movie that they ever agreed on.

"fine, how about the lorax?" i suggested. i expected them to get excited but it was not them who got overly enthused.

"YES, THE LORAX!" tyler said, excitedly. josh then joined him.

"LET'S DO IT, THAT'S MY FAVORITE MOVIE!" josh added. the kids giggled at them while i leaned over to whisper with debby.

"you'd think they're the ones that are five, not caroline and noah." i whispered. debby giggled.

"i know, right." she agreed. just then, the doorbell rang. i went to answer it and it was the pizza. i payed the delivery man and brought the pizza to the table.

"pizza!" i announced. they all made their way out to the dining room. i got the kids' plates for them while josh and tyler decided to just eat their pizza without plates.

"there's plates, you know." i told them. they shrugged.

"eh." tyler said.

we finished eating our pizza, and debby helped me clean up.

"it's so good to be home." she said. i nodded.

"it definitely is. i hate being away from the kids for so long." i agreed.

"maybe they can come on tour next time. i mean, by then they'll be six so that's not too too young."

"maybe. hiatus is going to be a year long, so we'll see how it plays out."

we finished cleaning up and went to sit with everyone in the living room. when we finally joined them, tyler happily turned on the lorax. caroline cuddled up with me while noah cuddled up with tyler. debby and josh also cuddled up with each other.

halfway into the movie, debby and josh left because they had stuff to unpack. we said our goodbyes and continued the movie.

the four of us fell asleep in the living room couch. it was so nice to finally be home at last.
