"It's just a ball, you hardly need to get in such a fuss over it," Lucifer shook his head at the presently complaining third born.
"Do I seriously have to go? The entire thing is just gonna be a bunch of stuck up normies talking and laughing and pretending that they're higher class than everyone else in the room even though everyone there got invited just like they did and-"
"Shaddup would ya? Jeez... ya act like we're askin' for a kidney or somethin'," Mammon groaned. "It's gettin' a little old, Levi."
Everyone in the House of Lamentation was sitting in the living room talking of the upcoming ball. Diavolo had been working on the plans for this for the last few months as a way to get the exchange students to intermingle with more of the Devildom. As the ball drew closer, Diavolo's growing enthusiasm seemed to have quite the impact on Lucifer.
Lucifer had, of course, tried to have a conversation about the ball a few weeks ago. However, night had ended with you unconscious and Belphegor temporarily locked back in the attic.
"Mammon, my time is just as valuable as yours, if not more," Leviathan slumped back into the couch, defeated.
"Okay well now that that's all said and done, I need to start getting everything ready! Would anyone care to go to Majolish with me?" Asmodeus leaned over the back of the couch with a smile.
Even though you weren't looking at him, you could feel Asmodeus eyeing you from where he stood. You were trying to make eye contact with Beelzebub, who would hopefully make up some excuse to get the both of you out of going. Beelzebub, however, seemed deep in thought.
"Can we go to Madam Screams on the way back...?" Beelzebub finally questioned. "If it means you'll go with me, then sure!" Asmo replied excitedly, "Okay, Beel's coming! Would aaaannnybody else care to go?" He poked at you gently.
You sighed, thinking back to last time you went shopping with Asmodeus. There wasn't any quick way out of it this time. "Alright, I'll go with you guys. Just don't make me carry all the bags again, okay? You know I love you but I don't think my arms could handle that again."
Asmodeus was quick to assure you that it wouldn't be a problem, especially with Beelzebub coming along. Beelzebub didn't seem to mind the implication that he would be the one in charge of the shopping bags. You figured it was safe to assume it wasn't his first time going on a shopping trip with Asmo.
"Belphie, you're coming too right?" Beelzebub asked with a bright smile. Asmo looked at you with wide eyes as if trying to gauge your reaction. Belphegor's gaze flickered between you and Asmo before settling back on his twin. "I- um... Sure, Beel," Belphegor smiled awkwardly back at Beelzebub, who looked content with the answer.
"Beel, are you sure that's a good idea...?" Asmodeus asked hesitantly, glancing your way briefly. "Why not? Diavolo said Belphie has to be supervised and I figured everyone else would be busy... and he hasn't gone anywhere like this in a long time..." Beel mumbled sadly.
Beelzebub stared thoughtfully at you and Asmodeus and a look of realization crossed his face. "Oh I- Oh man I'm so sorry," he apologized quickly, "I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable. I didn't do it on purpose, I promise I-" "I know you didn't do it on purpose Beel, it's okay," you assured him.
"Are you... okay with Belphie going?" Asmo looked at you with a concerned look on his face, evidently leaving the final say up to you. "I... I don't mind," you nodded after some hesitation. "Thank you," Belphegor nodded to you quietly as he stared down at the floor.
"Well um, let's get ready to go soon, okay? How about we all meet at the entrance hall in fifteen?" Asmodeus tried to sound cheerful as he looked at the three of you for confirmation. "We'll be there in fifteen," Beel smiled, and you nodded in agreement. "See you in fifteen," you smiled back at them, and made your way back to your room

"And if you need anything, you call me!" Mammon demanded and lightly poked your shoulder. "I will, I will. I'm sure it'll be fine, but I'll call you if anything happens," you agreed, turning to walk back down the hall. Mammon had overheard you making plans to go to Majolish, and arrived seconds after you got back to your room to give you his apparent guidelines for the night.
It was endearing how worried he was, even though he was trying to play it off as though he "just didn't want to deal with Lucifer getting mad at him" since "he was in charge of you".
You couldn't really blame him being worried given the situation, but Asmodeus and Beelzebub were going to be there too. It wasn't as if you were going to be completely defenseless if something happened.
"And text me regularly, dammit!" He called after you as he watched you leave. "I will, mom!" You waved at him, and smirked as he crossed his arms with a huff.
Beelzebub and Belphegor were already waiting in the entryway near the door, chatting animatedly with each other. It was odd seeing Belphegor look happy. Beelzebub had his moments, but you've never seen him look quite as happy before as he was now.
Hands on your shoulders caused you to jump, and Asmo leaned over you with a grin on his face. "They've always been like that," he mentioned, eyes on the twins. "They both look so happy," you whispered back.
"They've always been happiest when they're around each other. Belphie being gone was really hard on Beel," Asmo explained and grabbed onto your hand, linking his fingers in yours. "But enough of the sad stuff, let's go do some shopping, okay?" Asmodeus smiled brightly at you before pulling you towards the twins as they waited by the front door.
