Pulling the door shut behind you, you stepped carefully into Lucifer's study. "You wanted to see me?"

You had been in Lucifer's study a grand total of three times. Once when you first arrived, once right before exams week, and right now.

It's not like you were avoiding the place, but it did have an odd loneliness to it sometimes that you just couldn't shake. Even with the warm glow of the fire place, the room somehow managed to feel cold.

You received a text from Lucifer only about ten minutes ago saying there was something important he needed to talk to you about. Whatever it was, it apparently wasn't something that was able to be talked about during breakfast.

Lucifer was standing behind his desk, paperwork scattered in an organized mess in front of him. "I did, yes. Take a seat," He gestured to one of the red chairs, and you hurried to sit down.

He came around and took a seat on the other red chair, and took a deep breath before facing you. "You'll be leaving Friday," Lucifer spoke quietly.

"What?" You responded, feeling as though you had just been punched in the gut. Lucifer looked down at his lap sadly, chewing on the inside of his lip. "The exchange program is coming to a close."

"But that's— that's this week," you added, trying not to cry. Lucifer nodded slowly and turned to give you a sympathetic smile. "We'll be having a meeting with Diavolo on Friday morning in order to cover some paperwork, and you'll be departing that afternoon once things are finalized."

"Do I have to go back?" You asked quietly. Lucifer nodded gently. "I'm afraid so. You're bound by the paperwork you signed when you arrived. If you stayed and violated any of those conditions, it may make our relationship with the human world unnecessarily tense."

You leaned back in the chair, your gaze set on the ceiling. "I just didn't realize it had already been a year. I need to pack... and I should probably—"

"Tell Belphegor?" Lucifer finished your sentence with a bit of a smirk. "I haven't discussed it with anyone else, so the others aren't aware."

"I... probably should tell him, yeah," you admitted. You didn't want to think of the look Belphegor would have on his face when you told him you were leaving this week.

"Once you tell him, we can talk about it at lunch and let the others know," Lucifer replied, standing up from the chair. "That's all I needed to discuss with you, so you're free to go. I apologize for dropping this on you so suddenly."

"No, don't worry about it. It had to happen eventually right?" You smiled sadly. The thought of you leaving the Devildom didn't even feel real. Even though there had always been a one year time limit on your stay, it felt like some ridiculous dream.

After leaving Lucifer's office, you checked your phone and saw a few texts and missed calls from Belphegor. When you tried to call back, there was no answer. The calls just went straight to voicemail.

You made your way into the living room in an attempt to look for him, and Levi was sitting on the couch replaying one of his favorite games. When he saw you, he seemed a bit surprised.

"Where's Belphie?" Levi asked, a confused look on his face. "What do you mean? I just left Lucifer's study and saw some missed calls and stuff, but it just went to voicemail," you explained.

Levi paused his game and grabbed his phone, trying to call Belphegor. "Im getting voicemail too. He said he was looking for you and I told him that Lucifer wanted to talk to you. I figured he'd be with you if anything."

"There are a few more places I can check for him. I haven't really looked too much yet," you replied. "I'll catch you later though Levi, thanks!" You added before leaving to start an unexpected of hide and seek with Belphegor.
