"Sorry I'm late, it was a bit of a long day," you apologized, sitting outside of the attic door.

You had been spending most of your days like this recently. Wake up, go to RAD, come back, eat dinner, and visit the attic. It was always late enough at night that nobody should realize you aren't in your room, so you wouldn't have to worry about anyone looking for you.

The man begged you not to tell anybody that you knew he was up here. Surely the other brothers would be upset if they realized Lucifer had a human trapped up here, and you were unsure about where that could lead. So for now you agreed to help him without alarming anyone else.

"That's okay. You're here now, aren't you?" He sat on the other side of the gated door, smiling at you. "I guess you're right," you smiled back, "I just feel bad, I don't want you to get lonely up here or anything."

"You don't have to worry about that, trust me," he waved off your concern, "Tell me about your day."

You went on to tell him of the things that had happened today. How Mammon had to borrow a pencil (again) because he lost the one you lent him yesterday (again). Then how Satan nearly spoiled the ending of the book you had to read for class even though you made him promise not to tell you about it. And how you and Asmodeus did face masks shortly after dinner.

"It sounds like they make the days pretty interesting for you," he chuckled. "Absolutely," you nodded in agreement. "There's never a dull moment when I'm with them."

"Hey, I brought snacks today!" You sat down, sitting the snacks on the floor beside you. "To be honest. I don't know what half of these things are but I figured I'd bring you some stuff to eat!"

The man eyed the bags you brought with you excitedly, and looked like a kid on Christmas morning. "Here, I even brought extra so that you have some back up snacks," you smiled, offering the food through the small gap in the intricate pattern of the door. "Thank you..." he trailed off, holding the bag of chips you offered like it were Earth's rarest treasure.

"You don't have to eat them right away, of course. I just figured I'd switch it up a little and bring food today," you smiled. "You remind me of my brother," he laughed in response as he opened the bag of chips.

"Hey, we'll get you out of here soon enough, then you'll be able to go back to the human world and see him," you pointed out. "We should meet up when the exchange program is over."

"Yeah, for sure," the man agreed, but his smile didn't quite meet his eyes. "Are you okay?" You asked between chews.

"Yeah, yeah I'm fine. I just miss my brother is all. But like you said, I'll be able to see him soon, so no worries."

You quietly made your way up the rest of the stairwell, and stood patiently outside of the gate door. The man within noticed your presence quickly, and came over to meet you. "No snacks today?" He asked jokingly.

"No," you replied, crossing your arms in front of your chest. "Did something happen today?" He asked carefully. "A few things, I suppose," you sighed, frustrated. For the first time since you started visiting him, there was an uncomfortable silence.

"What's wrong?" He asked, a look of concern on his face. "You tell me, Belphegor," your eyes narrowed, and Belphegor's eyes widened... Another uncomfortable silence.

"Why did you lie to me? Was that really necessary?" You asked, shifting your angry gaze to your feet. "I was just playing a bit of a game, that's all," Belphegor held his hands up in surrender. "The part about me being a human wasn't the truth, sure, but the part about Lucifer locking me up in here was. You'll still help me, won't you?"
