chapter 3

Solomon and the two angels returned to the human world almost immediately. They couldn't stay in that... Well, hell hole any longer.

Solomon had made sure that all three of them returned safely into their house where they now stood silently in the hallway.

Simeon sighed to himself and broke the silence. "Luke, can you - "

"Yes." Luke didn't even need to be told. Just anything to get away from the growing tension that now caged the three. He scurried off to his bedroom along with his own heavy thoughts that kept him company.

It was now just the two adults stood silently in the dark hallway.

"Solomon, you don't have to do this, you know..."

The said male scoffed. His eyes fell to the floor as he shook his head in utter disbelief.

"I do have to do this, Simeon. You saw how the deal was made: it's pact - it's been made official. If I don't obey, I could..."

Simeon frowned as Solomon trailed off. He knew what would happen if the male were to disobey Lucifer's orders.

"I hate that demon so much. He had full control over us and now look what happened!" Simeon gritted his teeth in anger before storming out. The angel never got angry, so this was unexpected.

I know you're both angry at me, Luke and Simeon. I'm angry at myself too. But, to be honest, I don't know what other choice I have.

Solomon made his way to his own bedroom where he closed the door behind him. He sat down on his bed with a long, unnecessary sigh.

"What did I just agree to...?" He mumbled.

M/C arrived at their apartment in no time at all. They payed the taxi driver, thanked them, and made their way to the front door.

It was when they were stood outside fishing in their pockets for their keys, they realised that they had left them inside the house.

Oh, great. I hope Yui's in or else I'm going to be stuck out here for the whole night.

Raising a fist to the door, M/C knocked a few times. They knew how deaf Yui was. They also knew how lazy she was, so they prepared to stand there for a good few minutes.

However, that wasn't the case. As soon as M/C's arm returned to their side, the door swung open and M/C felt themself being dragged inside.

"U-Um - " They didn't even have time to speak as they were brought into a bone-crushing embrace by their friend.

"I'm just making sure this is really you." Was all Yui whispered.

M/C rose a brow. "What do you mean?"

"A knock at the door is never a good sign. Besides, you're home too early. Did you get let off early?"
