Alura sat on a seat in front of Alex's desk, she typed on her computer, Steve paced around, his hands firmly on his hips.
"So this Godspeed guy, he gave you powers?" Alex asked. Alura shrugged.
"I'm not sure anymore, because the doctors found this in my shoulder," Alura said and held up a chip. Alex's face hardened and she now wore a blank expression.
"It's a metahuman dampener, but who would put something like that inside of me?" Alura asked.
"I'm not sure, I didn't know about it," Alex said.
"Anyway, Godspeed is planning something huge, he's been stealing all these crates of artificial elements, I have to figure out what it all means," Alura said.
"That is your next assignment, I know that the DEO's main objective is to capture and contain Aliens but this is a threat too, the DEO has massive quantities of elemental matter and other things that if they fall into the wrong hands, they can harm the city or even the planet, are you up for the task, Rook?" Alex asked.
"You don't have to tell me twice," She answered.
Alura stood up and walked out of the room, giving Steve a gentle squeeze on the arm as she passed by. Steve looked at Alex and had his jaw clenched.
"You knew about it, so cut the crap, Alex, who put the chip inside Alura?" Steve asked.
"She's gonna hear," Alex murmured.
"She tunes me out, you know why? Because I gained her respect by being honest with her," Steve said firmly.
"It isn't my secret to tell, I told Kara she should not have occulted her powers, but it would have hinted to her father, and the least that Kara wants for Alura and her other kids is for them to follow in the steps of their father," Alex told him.
