Chapter 28- Mia files Part 2

Sorry guys like I said been very busy so not able to upload every day at the minute but im trying! Thank you for all those voting, commenting and reading means so much that someone is reading! This chapter is kind of a boring one but I promise next chapter is going to be good!

"Two years left...." Peter says his eyes wide with worry "can't we try and give her more soldier serum to even it out like her mum did to help her contain the power in the first place?" Bucky asks and I shake my head "Me and Ethan looked into this when I was younger the problem is-"

"You knew?" Tony asks coughing in shock "not all of it" I mumble "I wasn't aware it could kill me I mean" I shrug I knew the power got stronger as I aged which is why I rarely use it "One of the Wilsons Ethan worked with Hydra for a while before turning good we managed to steal a soldier serum and we practised mixing my blood work with it but they had bad reactions..." I mumble.

"Bad reactions?" Bruce asks and I nod "the files are at the Wilsons if you could get clearance from Shield I can retrieve them but basically when my blood with the serum mixed the substance would explode its why I think my mother only added a small dose but without having confirmation on size of the dose was or what kind of changes she made to the serum Ethan could not find the answer" I explain and Bruce nods looking a look at Tony.

"I will get clearance right away" Tony says picking up his phone already knowing Bruce wants them "doll are you okay?" Bucky says as I leaned back on him I just nod looking up at him "two years is a long time-" I begin to smile and he sighs "two years isn't enough doll we would never let you die don't even think that way"

"It won't get to the point" Bruce promises "I have managed to extract the virus before I can manage it again" he says but then the thought came to me.

I would have no powers.

"Talk to us" Steve says reading my face change I had not realised he had come over sitting next to us "without my powers I'm a weak target"I mumble I had made too many enemies over the years without it I would be sitting duck "No matter what happens Mia we would never let anyone hurt you" Steve promises but I could not smile they could not always protect me and I did not want to hide behind them.

"You are more than your powers Mia you still fight and you have fought without your powers for a long time according to your time at Shield your powers were rarely ever used" Tony says walking back in and I nod it was true fire is a good weapon but it can become dangerous easy so it was always easier to not use it on missions "that's if we even need to extract it I'm hoping to find away to stop it from growing so you can stay as you are without the risk of it hurting you" Bruce explains and I nod.

"Which leads us onto the next folder the Mia Shield files, you never took either Phils or Furys as a last name even after they adopted you" Bruce says opening it "is that a question?" I ask and he nods "if you are okay with telling us I'm just curious as to why" he says sitting back in front of me.

"Wade risked his whole life saving me from the fire I wanted to stay with Wade but Shield would not allow it so I told them I wanted Wilson. Fury and Phil both knew better than to push one of theirs so Shield decided to let me just be Mia I mean who wanted to piss off the 8 year old that blew up a Hyrda base" I explain shrugging to them and they nod they also knew better than to comment on my relationship to the Wilsons.

"Over your time with Shield you had a lot of health checkups but they don't really state what they are do you remember? Don't forget you don't have to answer all of this Mia" Bruce says trying to fill in the blanks and I just shrug "Hydra barely fed me and when they did it was only enough to stay alive. My father tests as you read from the last file included in taking stuff from my body, breaking bones, cutting off parts of my skin just to see how quickly I would heal etc after Wade brought me to Shield I was basically nearly dead because that's the way they always kept me so I couldn't escape" I explain feeling Bucky shift behind me "sorry" I say to him knowing here this cant be easy to him and he kisses my forehead "sorry doll I'm okay keep going"
