Barnaby Lee x Reader - Year 6

The Mole is...

After informing Dumbledore about all of the events that happened in the final vault, Lana went to catch up with her brother. She cast Vermillious on the lakeshore, and Jacob apparated in front of her.

"Good to see you, Pip." he smiled, hugging her tightly, "Especially now that we don't have to worry about Rakepick anymore. How are you? Did you get in trouble with Dumbledore?" he asked as they broke apart.

"Actually, he called me a hero." Lana said.

"Lana Riviera, the Hero of Hogwarts?" Jacob joked.

"It's better than being 'Jacob Riviera's little sister' forever." the girl chuckled.

"There's no escape from that! You'll always be my little sister. That's never gonna change...even if everything else has."

"What are you gonna do now?" Lana asked her brother.

"That's the question, isn't it? I can't come back to Hogwarts and play at being a normal student. Which is what you finally get to do!" he smiled.

"I get to be a normal student? I wonder what that's like!" Lana giggled.

"I vaguely remember being a normal student...before everything with the vaults."

"Between the two of us, we may be able to remember how to live a normal Hogwarts life!"

The siblings caught up for a while, chatting about what a 'normal' life would be like. It was hard for them, as they'd been so involved with the vaults over the years, and they never really got a proper chance at having a non-cursed experience.

"It's hard to believe that I can be a normal student after everything that's happened." Lana stated, "There's so much I don't understand! Like why 'R' was after the Cursed Vaults."

"Or what they wanted from you." Jacob added, "Do you know why 'R' is so interested in you, Pip?"

"I have no idea what 'R' wants from me. Your guess is as good as mine." Lana shrugged.

"We're both Legilimens, remember? I know there's something you're not telling me. But you don't have to. Whatever happens, I'll protect you." the older boy smiled.

"Thank you, but I can protect myself, Jacob."

"Consider it payback for everything you've done for me. You didn't give up on me, even when everyone else did. You freed me from the buried vault. And now you've given me purpose." Jacob smiled.

"What purpose is that?" Lana wondered.

"Stopping 'R', of course! I'm gonna talk to Mad-Eye Moody. You won't be safe until every last member of the cabal is captured. Take care, Pip. You've earned it." Jacob grinned, and with that, Lana was back off to Hogwarts.

Lana was called to the Hog's Head Inn where Mad-Eye Moody wanted to congratulate her about bringing Rakepick to justice. Talbott then called her to the owlery, where he sounded as though he was in a hurry. He gave her a letter which he'd found addressed to her, so she began to read it.

"It's from Ben!" she said.

"He must've left it here for you." Talbott said.

"Wait—Ben mentioned writing a letter before we entered the buried vault..." Lana remembered, "He said it was for a very important witch."

"Suppose the important witch was you."

"Let's see what Ben wanted to say..." Lana said. She read his letter, and it was written before he changed into stone-cold Ben. It was when he was sweet, and worried about the smallest things, and she missed that about him.
