KIERRA'S POV

"KiKi wake up. I'm going to be late!"

I turned my body to face Marsai and groaned.

"Marsai what time is it?" I asked. She was already dressed in her school outfit.

"7:30"

My head shot up. I looked at my iPhone 12 Pro and jumped outta my bed.

"I'll be downstairs waiting." She said, leaving my room.

I rolled my eyes and went to shower and get dressed. She's just going to have to be late because I refuse to drop her off on time and head to the office looking busted.

After I got dressed, I slayed my baby hair into swoops to complete my look. I checked the time and it was way after 8am. Luckily her school is up the road from my office anyways.

I walked down the steps and saw Marsai staring at me.

"Gworl stop staring at me. So what if you're not early to school today." I said.

"KiKi that's not the point. If you're on time, you're late and that's not acceptable. You shouldn't have been on Instagram Live all last night." She said. I mushed her head as I walked into the kitchen.

This child is too grown for a fourteen year old. I blame her daddy for that. I grabbed a banana nut muffin and water bottle out of my fridge and we walked to the garage.

"MarMar, plug my phone into the charger please." I pulled out of the garage and started driving down the road. Marsai used the aux cord to play The Clark Sisters.

"Girl do you ever get tired of listening to my family?" I asked her. She just laughed.

"Never! Oooh can we go to Nana Sheard's house today?" She asked.

"Uhhh she's out of town babe, but we can FaceTime her when I pick you up." I said, turning my signal light on to switch lanes.

"KiKi when's my daddy coming home?" She asked me after awhile. I looked at her from the rear view mirror.

"You know your daddy doesn't come home for another month." I said.

"Yea but I thought he would make it to my competition this week." She said. I sighed. Marsai has an important singing competition with her Glee Club and her father promised he'd make it. I hate when he doesn't keep his word. I'll have to cuss him out later about that. Y'all don't judge me, the Lord is still working on me!

Sean, Marsai's father, is known to the world as rapper Big Sean. To me, he's my best friend since we were Detroit kids being a menace in the streets. His parents attended my dad's church and ever since we were placed as chair buddies in the same children's church class, we clicked.

Sean is currently away on tour and has been gone for some months now. It was cool at first when he started his tour in the summertime, but now MarMar is back to her school routine and she misses her father.

Shoot, I miss my best friend too.

"I know but I'll record your singing so he'll see it. You know the whole family is going to be there!" I tried to be as cheerful as I can even though there's nothing I could really do. She just looked out the window as I pulled up to her high school.

"Alright kiddo, be good. Love you." I said.

"Love you too KiKi." She hopped out my car and made her way to the door. I waited until she made it fully inside before pulling off and hightailing it to the office.

I parked my car and greeted my staff, consisting of my bestfriend Shamika and personal assistant Tasia.

"Heyyy ladies! Happy Monday to y'all!" I yelled out loud. The two shook their heads and gave me hugs.
