KIERRA'S POV
After Marsai went up to her room, Sean and I waited about 10 minutes before heading up there. We first had to figure out how we were going to handle our talk. Sean led the way up the stairs.
He opened the door and Marsai was laying down on the bed, crying as she faced away from the door. Sean stood at the foot of her bed while I sat next to her on her bed. She was crying softly and I watched her cry for a few seconds.
"What's really going on Marsai and be honest with us." I said. She shook her head and kept crying.
"You need to tell us what's going on so that we can fix this baby. Do you want me to leave the room and you tell your Dad?" I asked.
I had to think about the fact that maybe she just didn't want to tell me her business to and that's totally fine if she didn't. As long as she tells one of us what's going on that's all that matters.
"No I don't want you to leave." Marsai spoke softly. She lifted her head up from the pillow and sat up against the headboard. She glanced and both Sean and I before looking down at her fingers.
Neither one of us were going to say anything. We waited to hear her speak first.
"So for the past couple of months, I've been getting bullied on social media. Someone has made a lot of hate pages about me and I think it's someone from my school. They know my entire class schedule and just won't stop with the lies and hate. I know I shouldn't have skipped school, but I get so tired of all the stares and slick comments made about me when I enter that school. Daddy I hate it there!" She cried some more as Sean finally sat down on the other side of her bed.
My face softened once she explained what's been going on and I wiped her tears from her face.
"Aww MarMar, why didn't you tell us this was happening? I teach singing classes there so you know I would've handled that school immediately." I said to her.
"I didn't want you or Daddy going down there because that would've been something else for them to talk about." Marsai said. I just shook my head.
"So what's the names of these pages on social media? You got screenshots?" Sean asked.
"Yeah, imma airdrop them to y'all." Marsai said. She took her phone out and added the photos in our family group chat. She had about 15 screenshots and 3 different usernames for Instagram.
I read the first 3 screenshots in horror. They were filthy and I've never seen anything like it. No 14 year old should have to go through this kind of hate.
I then looked at the screenshot of 3 Instagram comments from a recent post of Marsai's and they weren't as bad as the others but it's still harassment.
baddiexoxo13: Ion kno why ur daddy dating Kierra cuz she ain't even fine lmao he could do wayyy better
mlshinez: Yo Marsai lemme hit that frfr👅
Dom1814: Marsai, ur outfit weak asl today when you walk med down the hallway after ur Spanish class. How ur Daddy famous and you ain't got no drip? 🤣
Sean's face was in disbelief at the things we were reading. We had no clue this was happening online to MarMar.
"This is crazy. We gotta dig into this deeper to find out the people who are doing this to you." Sean said.
"So what's gonna happen to me at school?" Marsai asked. I sighed and looked at Sean to answer.
"Um, well Ki and I are going to figure out some of these people behind these hate pages and if we connect it to kids from your school, we're going to have a meeting with your principal." Sean said.
"Okay. I just want this to be over, and I'm sorry for not telling y'all sooner. I know how happy y'all are being together and I didn't want to tell y'all my issues to ruin anything." She confessed.
"Awww! Don't ever feel like you can't talk to me or your Dad on how you're feeling and what you're going through. We love you so much and always want to know what's happening no matter what." I said to her. I gave her direct contact so she'll know I'm serious.
We talked some more about what we discovered and then I realized I needed to get started on dinner.
"Alright pooh. Go ahead and get started on homework and don't turn that TV on. You have in-school suspension for the rest of the week so you don't get TV or laptop privileges at home." I said, getting up from the bed.
"Baby come help me with dinner." I added, looking Sean into his eyes.
"What's for dinner?" Both Sean and Marsai asked at the same time. I laughed and shook my head.
"Y'all want spaghetti or lasagna tonight?" I asked.
"Ooohh can we please have lasagna with garlic bread?" Marsai asked.
"Don't matter with me." Sean replied.
"Alright. Lasagna and garlic bread it is." I said.
Sean and I left Marsai's room and went to get started on dinner.
As we started cooking, I mentally prepared myself for the busy week I have ahead. Tomorrow is going to be hectic trying to figure out the people behind those hate pages on top of all the meetings I'll have work related.
My dad also called me wanting just us to have lunch together to discuss some important things according to him, so who knows what the conversation will be with the Bishop...
