Kierra's POV
As I held Marsai's hand in the ambulance, I texted Shamika to meet me at the hospital. I didn't know how long all of this will take, but I would need her to go get my car from the school.
I let my hand go from Marsai to put my phone up and she quickly took my hand back. I shook my head and laughed a bit because of her sudden clinginess.
"We're pulling up to the entrance ma'am." The EMT worker informed us. There was a little bump in the back from the road as they turned the corner, but soon the doors were opening and I stepped down.
I watched them roll Marsai down the ramp and we all headed into the hospital. I needed to speak to a head nurse or doctor because we'll need privacy. I'm dealing with Sean's daughter and while we may not be as recognizable, I still needed to protect her no matter what. Call me extra or whatever, but I'd rather be cautious than have a ShadeRoom headline about us at the hospital circulating.
I saw that they were heading Marsai towards a restricted area and I knew I wouldn't be able to follow.
"Where is she going right now?" I asked to no one in particular.
"She's going to get tests done on her leg and then she will be moved into a regular room where the doctor will give you the results." A woman told me.
"Okay, let me say something to her before she leaves." I said. They halted and let me walk up towards Marsai.
"They're going to take you back there for tests and then I'll meet you back to hear the results, okay?" I told her.
"You're not gonna leave me?" She asked me.
"Of course not. Mommy's not going anywhere." I kissed her forehead as they rolled her away. I looked around and spotted a nurse about to walk past me.
"Excuse me ma'am. Could you help me out?" I asked. She looked at me and she was almost in shock.
"Omg Kierra Sheard. Of course I can. Sorry for the surprised look, it's not everyday I see my FAV." She expressed. I smiled.
"Aww thank you for the support. So my daughter is here and she'll need a private room. How can I make that happen?" I asked.
"You have a daughter? Oh wow, okay so yes I can help you. Follow me and we can set up those arrangements." She said. The way she reacted to me referring to Marsai as my daughter made me realize I need to lay low on saying that out loud. Everybody don't need to know my business. I just need to hush and keep a low profile.

Sean's POV
After getting off the phone with Kierra, I made up my mind to just fly back home. I know she can handle whatever is going on with Marsai, but I want to be there too.Luckily, I can fly back if everything is okay but work can always wait. My assistant is pushing meetings back and letting people know about my family emergency.
I texted Shamika to keep me updated while I get on my flight because I didn't want Kierra convincing me not to come.
"Yo Sean, the flight is ready." My assistant told me. We headed out the studio and into our Uber ride for the airport where the private jets are at. I needed a private jet because there were no commercial flights available at such a short notice.

Few hours later
Once the plane landed, the sun was already setting for the evening. A car was waiting for us and the plan was to first drop my assistant off home and then me. I didn't need my bodyguard with me since I'm heading towards the hospital but I did alert my team that I'm back in Detroit for the time being so they could be on standby.
Making it home, I quickly showered and changed clothes before hopping into my car and getting something to eat. I figured Kierra and Marsai may want something so I got us all food.
I called Kierra once I picked up the order to see what she was up to. It's been a few hours since she last texted me an update.
"Hello?" She spoke into the phone.
"Hey Ki, what's going on now with Marsai?" I asked.
"Um she's fine babe. She's sleeping since the medicine knocked her out. Once the doctor gave me the update after her tests, they needed to perform surgery on her leg. She ended up having a broken leg due to the hard fall she took." She said. I shook my head. I know babygirl is mad about that but it's nothing we can do except comfort her.
"I know she gonna be mad about that but all we can do is make sure she's recovering well and taking it easy. You know we gotta find out what happened, right?" I said.
"Oh babe you already know I'm on it. We got a lot to discuss when you're home because I want her out of that school. Something in my spirit is saying this accident was done on purpose." She said.
"Exactly. Marsai never falls or trips so we gotta figure all this out." I said. "Are you at the hospital by yourself?"
I've almost made it to the hospital but there's a few red lights that's in the way.
"Yeah. Earlier Shamika and my Mom were here but I told them they could leave. Mama has a church event tonight so I made her leave." She said.
"Oh okay. You ate yet?" I asked.
"No, not really hungry babe. I'll get something from the cafeteria if I am. I just wanna be here whenever Marsai wakes up." She said.
I could hear how tired she was by the sound of her voice so that let me know she hasn't ate since probably breakfast. I'm so glad I already got the food because she needs to eat. Pulling up my car in the parking deck, I turned it off and started gathering the bags.
"Baby, let me call you right back, I got another call coming in." I said.
"Okay, bye." We ended the call because I needed to grab all my stuff and plus I knew the elevator ride was going to disconnect us anyways.
I made sure to text Shamika what hospital room Kierra was in before I landed in Detroit so that I would know where to find them and not blow up my arrival.
Juggling the food and drinks, I knocked on the door and waited for her to answer. She opened the door, and to say she was surprised was an understatement.
"BABY! Omg what are you doing here?!?" She gave me a kiss on the lips and moved to the side so I could come in.
Closing the door, she helped me with the drinks and we placed it in the kitchenette section of the private suite.
"Damn this room nice! Did you make this request or they did it?" I asked her.
"I did. I just wanted to play it safe and just go ahead and get a private room." She said.
I took a real good look at her and could tell she was tired and stressed.
"Baby, I know you're tired and haven't ate, so I got food and I want you to lay down after that." I said. I walked up to her as she leaned against the table where the food laid and gave her a hug.
She snuggled into my chest and exhaled.
"I am so tired babe but I need to be up when Marsai wakes up." She said.
"That girl ain't going nowhere. Go ahead and eat and then rest. When she wakes up, I'll get you up." I kissed her forehead a couple of times before letting her go. She looked into the bags and grabbed a turkey sandwich and a bag of chips. We both sat down on the couch and I turned the channel to ESPN. Kierra was quiet as she ate and that's when I knew she was really tired. Once she finished, she threw away her trash and leaned back into me on the couch. I wrapped my arm around her and rubbed her side as she fell asleep.
After awhile, I soon dozed off myself.
