"All right, class. Time's up. Pass your quizzes to the front."
Kat and I sent each other identical eye rolls as we handed our Statistics quizzes over, clearly not looking forward to getting back our results.
I was not feeling too sharp about that exam. I had studied my ass off for it, but by the time I saw the first equation glaring back at me from the quiz sheet, I knew I was fucked.
What was it with college professors getting off on making their tests nothing like the study guide? I genuinely didn't see the point. They could just save their time by not making one at all if it wasn't even going to resemble the quiz.
Following Kat's groan of frustration I muttered, "I'm literally counting down the days until I never have to see Professor Langley's face again."
I could have sworn that the guy found happiness in making his students suffer.
"Keep counting" scoffed Kat, her face taking on an even more depressing form. "We still got over a month to go."
"Don't remind me. I will seriously be requiring therapy after spending the last semester stuck in a classroom with this bearded asshole."
Kat laughed, shaking her head in a disgruntled agreement. "You know, I don't know of any psychologists, but I do have an even better form of treatment in mind..."
By the look on her face, I could already tell I was going to like her answer. "And what may that be?"
Kat grinned, her eyes sparking in excitement. "Retail therapy."
Chuckling, I grinned in approval. "That is the best kind."
There really was nothing that a brand new outfit couldn't solve.
Applauding with eagerness, Kat squealed, "Yay! This is gonna be so much fun. I haven't been shopping in a hot minute."
"Kat, you just ordered like twenty pairs of shoes online."
Waving her hand in dismissal, she mumbled, "That was like, a week ago. Far too long."
I really didn't know how she wasn't bankrupt at this point.
"If you say so," I voiced, smirking as we got up and started heading out of the lecture hall.
"Meet me at Century City Mall at 5:00?" Kat proposed as she walked beside me, squinting when we stepped out under the blinding sun.
I nodded, trying to get out of the way of all the bustling students as they scurried across the quad. "I have to head over to my internship but I should be done by around 4:30. I'll just meet you there."
"Perfect. Can't wait!"
Tossing her a smile, I waved goodbye before making my way over to my car to head to Hawthorne Media. Hopefully, today's work would go by quickly.
Retail therapy couldn't come soon enough.

Sending out my last email, I let out a small sigh of relief at my office desk.
I had finally managed to catch up on all my work, which was the only thing making my Monday a little less sucky - besides my upcoming retail therapy, of course.
It was a pretty good day whenever Mondays didn't completely suck, seeing as they were automatically soul-crushing.
My phone pinged beside me, grabbing my attention. Glancing at the screen, I noticed it was a text from Hunter.
Hi Angel. You free to grab some dinner after work?
Sorry babe, wish I could. Have plans with Kat.
