"Let Ashley get far enough away before you release the pressure of your Redemption, otherwise you'll crush her," Ben said to his new opponent. His eyes narrowing on the Lord of the Sanctum of Haven. From this point forward, he would never take his eyes off the woman. The woman's knuckles burning white from the anger as she painfully gripped the two daggers.
Time felt almost still. Seconds trickling by before the Lord could no longer contain the pressure of her power. The dam broke as her mana took over the world. The wind slamming into Ben with every killing intent that could have ever existed.
The man didn't move. He stood their with pride and eyes focused on the woman. Sonya's uncontrolling rage was the mind behind the body and with Ben unflinching before her made her even more angry. Any other human would have been on their belly from the force of her being.
Both opponents glaring at one another, knowing they were strong. Ben began to move is katana in a defensive position knowing that Sonya was going to strike first. His legs moving one in front and slightly bent to keep away from a knee locking position. The man was right. Sonya struck first.
She was far faster than Scar had been, but she didn't use the strategic tactics of her subordinate. Sonya striking head on like a wild animal. Right, left, right, left; the same repetition that Ben was easily blocking the undisciplined strikes of those powerful daggers. Sparks of fire flying with each blade strike, he knew the woman had to be smarter than this especially if she was leader of an army.
The flaming dagger came slamming into Ben's sword, Sonya forcing her body upside down above him never taking the blade from him. Ben's katana, Moonlight, screeching in desperation from the strength of the woman. Ben's forearm burning under the strength and licks of flame tongues. Fire suddenly erupting, but Ben was ready. His blade creating a shield of water the moment the embers went on their onslaught.
Ben went jumping to the side as Sonya's black flaming dagger came slicing through where he had been. Those shadowy tongues seem to burn a hole in reality. He had never met a being that could control more than one element. Sonya was a rare creature.
She went lunging at him harder and faster, using the same animalistic tactic over and over. He kept blocking the oncoming attacks, working his sword arm magically to the attempts. He was blocking gracefully and yet to the trained eye Moonlight was pushing back a bit more with every strike. A hissing of steam on contact. The heat was almost unbearable as the flames kept nipping at his arm. His skin was dry and it felt like it was cracking with every move until finally he needed a break from the heat. Ben created a rush of water in front of him from the pool of water he had kept with him. This torrent of liquid split the two combatants apart. Two new barely bleeding cuts were on his chest. Cuts he didn't know had happened.
"I'm going to kill you Hunter," Sonya growling at him. Her once lovely eyes that had been sparkling with happiness had been replaced by a murderous feline. The intent of revenge and his blood were the price to cool this being.
Ben could only look at her with pity in his eyes. No matter what he did or who he fought, he blamed himself more than anyone. "I tried Sonya and I failed. I'm sorry for every mistake I had ever made to you and to her."
"You let her die!" Sonya screaming at him. She was beyond reasoning. The flames of her skirt flapping wildly in her emotion.
Sonya pointed the tip of her fire blade at Ben and it erupted into a large horizontal stream of flames. Ben countering with his own. Water evaporating the moment the two elements struck. Dodging to the side on instinct, Ben barely avoiding another vicious attack of fire. He spun on his heel blocking the dagger of shadows. Sonya was giving a victorious smirk to him.
