There was not just one person who did not feel the evil pressure of the Awaken creature. All fights immediately ceasing as people dropped to the ground in obedience to the power. Only a few could stand among this sudden massive sea of dark mana that had come down upon the Sanctum of Haven.
Most humans were curling their bodies in a feeble attempt to protect themselves. The intruders and the Highlords of the city stood with eyes upon the tower. Each of their bodies shaking from the immense sea of supernatural pressure bearing down on them all. None of them ever expecting to be alive to witness such demonic power. This was a being stronger than any devil ever confronted to date, an Archdevil had arrived.
It's presence within the holy city seem to shake everything from the sky to the foundations and not just figuratively. A tremor was upon the city that had the holy place quivering in fear. Disbelief was on every mortals face when the sky above them shattered into uncountable shards of tiny lights that the sun's rays gave. These shards never hitting the ground below but signified the fall of the Sanctum's holy barrier.
Outside the walls the human army collapsed from the Archdevil's power. In the distance came the horde of demons that was howling in triumph as they watched the fall of the Sanctum's barrier.
Sonya was only one among the very few that could stand and even then her body was shaking almost violently. The woman went walking to the front of the battle lines, drawing her weapons and releasing her own power. Her hope was that the soldiers around her would rise to join her as she tried to display a hope against this chaos.
Xavier and Tyrael, both bleeding profusely, were sprinting side by side for the central spire. Tyrael was focused on the safety of his home while his opponent was licking his lips for a 'real opponent' as the brute had put it. Dyrune, Ajax, and Zaine were doing the same though instead of calling the fight a tie like Tyrael had done with Xavier, this old man merely stated it was a delay to be concluded after all this nonsense was over. There were only two who never felt the oppressive presence.
So absorbed in the killing of the criminal known as the Hunter, Highlord Michelle cared nothing for the dark power that was cracking the massive dome of her subordinates. She paid no mind to the clinging soldiers that lay all around the dome and still had their mana tethered to the ice dome. Michelle stood there savoring her kill as those eyes were staring at the block of ice that contained the Hunter. There had been no better feeling than this, a battle of power and reputation. She of course was the winner of this battle. The ice began to crack and then her trident sped into the block of ice. Shards went in every direction but the woman hit nothing but her own element.
"Over here," the Hunter said.
She spun on her heel in surprise to see the man only steps away from her. His cloak and shirt were gone, the woman couldn't help but admire his muscle tones and the numerous scars upon the man's body. Around his neck was a chain with two rings connected together while the chain was woven between them, two wedding bands. She even noticed that the man's sword arm was bandaged on his forearm but an odd black tattoo that had crept up the arm. The bandage seem to be cracking on top, though it was small and barely visible.
"No one can move that fast," Michelle snapping a glare at the Hunter.
Ice and water erupting where the Hunter was at and Michelle went lunging with both hands on her weapon. Michelle's aim went into the heart of her watery attack once again. Nothing, there was no solid object to hit except the ice that she had created.
Michelle gave a wicked grin as she heard the Hunter's voice. "This ends now."
Ice fell to the ground while Michelle's beautiful eyes widened in shear shock and awe. Before her stood a man with such fury that even in her angelic form she could only cringe. An abrnomal feeling came from the Hunter as the man released his power. Parts of buildings began to fall while cracks ran up the inside of the large dome all around them. Far above the two, the ice dome cracked on a vast scale, connecting with the outer cracks.
