NOTE: In this fanfiction, This story won't follow the HTTYD storyline, only some things will be similar. Hiccup never shot down Toothless but meets him briefly for a few months. New chapters will come out either once per day, or once per two days. This is my first ever fanfiction, criticism is appreciated (Please don't be mean). I do not own HTTYD. Hope you enjoy!

A fourteen year old boy stared at the ceiling from his bed, his body was covered in bruises and littered in scars, his mind was exhausted and his eyes were tired out from years of crying, all because he was different. This boy has always been different, the way he talked, walked, and thought were always different from the rest, and because of this, his village thought it was a valid reason to make the boy's life miserable. Every day for as long as he could remember, he has been belittled, bullied, shoved, pushed around, beaten to a bloody pulp and being called Useless instead of his name by his own village, his tribe, the people who were supposed to protect him, even his sometimes his own father. The boy's name was Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the third.
Hiccup Haddock live on Berk, a small island that's twelve days north of Hopelessness and a few degrees south of Freezing to death, it is located solidly on the Meridian of Misery.
Hiccup has always tried to fit in, to be among his Viking peers, to live up to his Father. But it seems that no matter what he did, it never seemed to work, Hiccup could never fit in. He was kind, gentle, intelligent but also very clumsy and small. His father never properly took care of him, only made sure he was alive, ever since his wife's death, he has been distant to his son, always prioritizing the village over him. Yes his father was none other than Stoick the Vast, Chief of the tribe, a fair and just chief in the eyes of his people, but not his son. For years, Hiccup has deluded himself into thinking his father still loved him, still cared for him, still thought of him as his son, but over the years, this delusion of his was slowly deteriorating.
Hiccup awoke to a big bang, causing him to fall out of his bed and meet the floor. He grudgingly got up and clumsily ran downstairs and opened the heavy front door, only to be met by a dragon shooting flames at him. Yes, Dragons, Dragons the size of a whole house, flying Fire-breathing war machines that had no mercy according to Berk. Hiccup closed the door in time to avoid being roasted alive, the very thought of that sent shivers down his spine. He ran out into the chaos, dodging and weaving between Vikings but not fast enough to escape their words.
"Hiccup! what are you doing here, get inside!" Yelled one Viking.
"What are you doing here, get back inside!" yelled another.
He continued running through the chaos, trying not to be killed or burned alive until a dragon whizzed past him and he was grabbed by big meaty hands, he yelped as he was grabbed painfully, he gazed up to get a look at who grabbed him and it was none other than his father. "Hiccup! what is he doing- What are you doing out, Get inside!" Hiccup was forcefully shoved into the forge, where he has worked for the past eight years of his life.
"Nice of you to join the party, I thought the dragons have carried you off!" His Boss yelled, the meathead with an attitude and interchangeable hands is Gobber, Hiccup has been his apprentice ever since he was little, well, little-er.
"What, who, me? Nah I am way to muscular for their taste, they wouldn't know what to do with all this" Hiccup said as the struck a pose to look more muscular
"Well they need toothpicks don't they?" Gobber retorted, Hiccup opened the window only to be met by angry Vikings shoving their broken and bent weapons in his face, yelling at him to quickly sharpen it, Hiccup grabbed the heavy weapon and started sharpening it and quickly throwing it back at them so they could continue protecting the village from the dragons raids. Hiccup poked his head out and saw his worst nightmare, no not the dragons, but his Viking tormenters, this group of 5 were his worst nightmares, they bullied him with no mercy or compassion, attacking him every chance they got, Belittling him every day, always reminding him that he is worthless and useless.
