It was early morning; light decides to take over the darkness of night. The night which was full of storms, darkness, and thunders. There was heavy rain last night, it washed the roads with its wetness and turned the weather to cold and humid. Soil released its soothing and refreshing aroma, water droplets falling from slippery-greenly wet leaves.

Ten black SUVs going on an isolated road at a high speed, their tanned-cleaned windows could act as mirrors. The car in front pressed the brakes which produce loud noise and it halted meters away from a tied figure. Other cars stopped as well, and all the men came out, heavy footsteps were heard running towards the blindfolded soul.

His steps paused and his heart skipped a beat when he saw his angel on her knees. Her hands on her back with a rope tied to her waist, her mouth, and eyes both tied with thick broad black clothing. She is on high alert. He took cautioned steps while his eyes not leaving the other half of his heart. He leaned closer to her and the moment she realized someone's presence her heart shivered in fear, breathing got heavy and when her shoulder felt a touch, she gave a muffled scream jolting her whole body. She flinched back avoiding any physical contact with this unknown stranger but recognized him when she heard her name coming from his mouth.

"Aadhya"

Her POV

My life was a fairytale filled with immense love from my family and the blessing of God, but this beautiful dream changed into a nightmare when I was accused of killing my Badi Ma. That day was the worst day of my life.

It took me days to recover from the loss and because of my guilt, I didn't get to see the last glimpse of my mother figure. That numbness instills an unusual fear in me, fear of losing my beloved, fear of losing my happiness again, and the worst one, fear of going back to that miserable state.

The time I said yes to this marriage I knew it's not going to be lovey-dovey wedlock, but I never thought in less than a week I will be forced to stand in my worst nightmare. I can still hear those loud, scary gunshots, rotten smell of blood, filthy touch, and feel my long-lost companion, darkness.

God knows how long I was kept in that dark cell. I breathed a sigh of relief when they took me out of the gloomy prison. But my relief didn't stay for long when instead of untying me they left my tied figure in amidst of nowhere and now it's been hours since my tied figure is lying on this rough and hard road. I stood still for the first hour and once I confirmed there isn't a slight movement around me, I leaned down and put my weight on my knees.

"Help...please help......Badi Ma"

"Maa...please stay awake...you'll be alright"

"Badi Maa!"

"Maa"

*Ambulance siren*

"You're a murderer, Aadhya."

"You killed Maa"

"Don't dare to go near her, Leave"

"I hate you."

If there would be someone else in my place, he/she would be hell scared for what's gonna happen next or what if those goons return but my situation is different. The familiar numbness accompanied my heart, giving me the peace, my soul craved for. I quit, I want to end this misery now but the gunshots, blood from last night is sending me back to those horrible memories of darkness and loneliness.

"Aisha, Bhai please open the door." I cried while hardly knocking on the door with my fisted hand.

"Mumma Papa, anyone here?" I screamed in hope of getting anyone to unlock me, but nobody came.
