It's been two hours since Aadhya got her consciousness back, but there were no traces of Veer. He had not returned yet. His prolonged silence has cleared one thing that he is up to something, and for sure, he got hands-on with those bastards. But he has not revealed it to anyone yet.
Yuvi left the hospital after his encounter with Aadhya, and Kabir was pacing back and forth in the seating area. The absence of both the brothers left him frustrated. There was a deep frown on his face when he saw Veer's figure getting out from the elevator. But what caught his attention was Veer's T-shirt drenched in blood, and he was well aware of whom this blood belongs.
Veer left the elevator and took long strides towards the seating area, his stable and dominating aura was least affected by the blood traces on his shirt. Kunal handed him a new T-shirt which he wore after removing the one covered in blood. His hands still had some blood he was about to wipe, but he ceased when he heard his wife's voice. All the heads turned in her direction, but she unaffectedly ran towards her husband and hugged him. Her clumsy actions and hurry cleared she certainly missed the events that happened a few minutes ago.
He was about to wrap his arms around her, putting a lovey-dovey show for others, but the redness on his hands didn't let him reciprocate her actions. These red spots remind him of the inevitable that the wicked world of Devils is not for innocent, sweet angelic creatures, but before he could react, Kabir came forward and cleaned my hands unnoticed by my angel. He wrapped his arms around her once they were entirely free from traces of my sins.
Veer's POV
My tension, my anger, guilt, stress, everything went away. I craved for this moment for hours, for all those times when we were crazily searching for her. Then, finally, my angel is in my arms. What else do I need? My hand was on her back, consoling her as her breathing was heavier than the normal ones.
Yuvi already told me the reason behind her panic attacks, and I had already planned my ways to address it. Her head is resting on my chest while she enjoys a carefree sleep. I turned to admire her beautiful face, which was inches apart from mine, her orbs behind her heavy petals, her cheeks pale and dull while her mouth was slightly open, all thanks to her heavy sleep. My thumb started caressing her lips, and she winced when it met the cut on the corner of her upper lip. Surprisingly, I didn't fume with anger. Instead, an urge to protect her overpowered my fucked-up mind, which led me to keep her in my arms day and night.
I always pushed her away because of my messed-up emotions, which compelled me not to trust anyone easily. I was waiting for her to gain my trust, but everything that happened changed everything between us.
It will never happen again. She is a family now, a Chaudhary and, on top of that, my responsibility. I was busy with my thoughts when I saw her moving. Her arms were securing me near her while she lazily blinked her eyes to adjust to the room light. Her skin no more looks pale, all because of the glint in her eyes, a feeling of relief and safety.
End of Veer's POV
Veer kissed her forehead and stood up from her bed, giving her space to get seated comfortably. He stood near the window with his back towards her.
"I gave you my words today that this will never be repeated. Never means Never."
She didn't respond, nor did he expect her to, her eyes cast down with a bit of glossy wetness coating her iris. He turned and softly called her in a concerning yet genuine tone. His sweet gestures still didn't receive her attention, so he continued with his apologetic words.
"At the time of our marriage, I promised to keep you safe and protected. I know I failed. First time I failed to protect my family."
"Family?" Indeed, she knew whom he addressed as a family, but her heart desired to hear those words from him.
"Of course, it's you. You are a family now." He answered, to which she just gave a quick nod.
"You don't deserve this suffering. Aadhya, I am sorry. I promise to keep you safe." If it's not her aching throat, she will take it as a dream where her arrogant, rude Mr. Devil is apologizing.
" I want you to stay happy from now on." He cupped her face while alluring her with his good yet touchy words, which melted the heart of our innocent heroine. She gave out a little whimper with happy tears flowing out of her hazel orbs.
"You want my happiness?"
"Yes, my angel."
"Then I want you to fulfill my demand." She wiped her tears off her rosy cheeks. Her sweet and serene nature is not to be taken for granted, not at all. So, if Mr. Devil wants his apology to be accepted, then giving in to her demands shouldn't be a challenging task for him.
"Your wish, my command, sweetheart."
Veer's POV
"Goa's famous business Rajeev Rao breathed his last this morning. He met with a fatal road accident in Texas, police sources said.
Sources said his car fell off the cliff. His younger brother Sunil Rao who was accompanying him, survived the accident but is said to be in a coma by the Doctors Team. Rajeev's body is still not found, said Texas police.
Cabinet Minister Mr. Nalle got arrested in a money laundering case after statements of his resignations. Opponents demand fair judgement and want strict actions to be taken against him. "
Rajeev Rao's big mistake was to think he could ever cross me. His stupidity of adding Nalle to his plan cost him to lose his dear life. I might have believed Nalle's so-called diabetic attack drama, only If my eyes didn't catch the plate of sweet dishes hidden under his bed and then the exciting part began. One bullet in his leg, and he spilled the truth.
I must say that people like Rajeev are rare gems. His cunningness, covered with his calm and sophisticated self, let him settle everything without getting noticed, either it is murdering the rival businessman or killing homeless people in car accidents. What else could we expect from a person who killed his father? I was quiet for a reason or waiting for the high time to reveal my ace card and turn the tables. Well, in his case, I did nothing. I didn't plan his assassin or hired a killer. No Nothing. All I did was spilling off the truth to the right person, and in this case, it was his brother, to whom I gave my few connections to make it easy for him. He faked his comatose state to avoid accusings, and his trick did work.
Commoner thinks it's an accident, but smart ones know who is behind such accidents. About Nalle, I just leaked a few shreds of evidence of his illegal works. Opponents handled the rest.
Kunal, Kabir and the rest of my men were going to the club. They are going to celebrate my victory while I will spend time with my angel on our honeymoon. Yes, honeymoon. She wants me to give time to our relationship, to spend time together and know each other. It was the first time we had a normal conversation, and she spoke her heart out. She said she wanted to learn me and see my authentic self without the façade of coldness, without the tag of Sarkar. I have a reserved personality, I never express what I feel, or it wouldn't be wrong to say I wasn't taught to tell myself. My actions, presenting's and words were always calculated before executing, and that's why I am what I always wanted to be. My little crazy side was always suppressed under a commanding and heartless self that wanted to stand on my father's expectations. I valued what others expected me to do then what I wanted, and now both are intact.
