"Hey! Justin Bieber!" Bakugou shouts, pushing through the crowd in Gym Gamma. "Let's fucking go."

"I'm sorry, who?" Light says, noticing that Bakugou's attention has fallen on him.

"Who else, Edward Cullen? Let's see how that shitty quirk of yours holds up against explosions."

Bakugou grins manically, his palms crackling. Light looks at him, then laughs airily.

"You're on."

"Aw, Bakubro, I thought we were gonna spar today," Kirishima complains.

"We can spar when I'm done killing this extra, Shitty Hair."

With that, Bakugou throws himself at Light, palms ablaze. Light scoffs and dodges his initial attack with a quick side step. This only serves to make Bakugou angrier, as he fires off attack after attack.

"Wow, his quirk is so cool!" Midoriya exclaims. "He's dodging everything!"

"Please, your classmate is easily predictable," L says, exasperated. It's clear that Light's quirk is a common conversation topic for him. "Even an idiot could guess which move he would make."

"I've fought him before and it's never been easy," Midoriya says. "I mean, Kacchan does like to lead with a right hook, but he surprises everyone with new moves all the time!"

"I guess you're an idiot then," L notes.

"Hey, don't talk to him like that," Todoroki says, walking up beside Midoriya. "Midoriya is one of the smartest people I know."

"Aw, really? I mean, Todoroki, you're—"

"I think you're all idiots because none of you see the truth behind Light's lies," L says pointedly.

"What exactly is he lying about, then?" Todoroki asks.

"His quirk is clearly fake," L gestures at Light who is still dodging all of Bakugou's attacks.

"If his quirk isn't short-term clairvoyance, then what is it? Are you saying he doesn't have one at all?" Midoriya says, looking somewhat shaken.

"No, I know he has one. I've seen his medical charts. I just haven't figured out what it is yet. All the ways he 'proves' his quirk to other people can be written off as simple coincidence. Light Yagami isn't an idiot— he's playing everyone in this class."

"Interesting," Todoroki says, focusing his gaze on Light.

"Todoroki-kun, no."

"Midoriya, I think we should hear him out."

"Everything about him is just one big act. That's why I came along on this trip," L explains. "Someone had to keep an eye on him and this allows me to have easy access to the subject of my research."

"Research?" Midoriya says.

"He's only a teenager, but I know he's dangerous," L says. "So I need to find out what his secret is as fast as possible."

"Have you considered that he may be Sir Nighteye's secret love child?"

"Todoroki, I can't believe you're going along with this!"

"Well, now I know you're an idiot. While I appreciate your inane theories, I could use some actual help."

"Fine, just don't call us idiots and I'll help," Todoroki says.

"Well, I'm not sure I believe you, but if you really think someone's in danger I'll help," Midoriya says. He clenches his fist and nods at L in determination.
