After seeing you and Loki together, it didn't take long for Steve and Bucky to start seeing the flaws in their relationship with Nat. To put it simply, she wasn't you. The more they talked, the more they realized that they had jumped the gun on thinking the worst of you. Never, not once, had you given them any sort of indication that you were being unfaithful. No, the sole issue in that fight had been...Nat.
Oh, it infuriated Bucky the second he realized. He wanted to go off on her the second he realized, but Steve asked him to hold back, to wait until the perfect opportunity. Bucky did, albeit reluctantly. He didn't want to be too late to going back to you, didn't want to find out you and Loki had taken things further. That he and Steve no longer had any place in your life.
He didn't have to wait long, though. The opportunity arose quickly, when Nat was rolling her eyes as you and Loki gushed over some book you both had been reading.
"Look at her, acting all smug 'cause she's got a god's attention," she said. "Can you believe that?"
"I can't believe you're such a bitter, stuck-up bitch," Bucky said.
All conversation ceased, and all eyes were on them. Nat's head snapped toward him, her mouth falling open. "Excuse me?"
But Bucky was looking at you, his eyes sad. So Steve jumped in, and he said, "You heard Buck. You can't ever be fuckin' happy, so you gotta shit on everyone else's happiness. Why can't Y/N have friends? Be friendly with people? Fuck, if she's...if she's with Loki, why is it any of your business?"
"Yeah, are you gonna go ruin that relationship too?" Bucky asked.
"I-I never—"
Bucky rose to his feet, towering over her. "Shut. The. Fuck. Up."
"In case things aren't clear, this is over," Steve said. "I'll drop off whatever shit you have in our room later."
Nat looked liked she wanted to fight back, but with both super soldiers giving her icy glares, she knew it would be a losing fight. So she jumped up, storming off, grumbling about how they would regret their decision.
Bucky had crossed the room by then, falling to his knees in front of you. "Y/N, baby, I'm so sorry," he said, reaching out for your hand.
Reluctantly, you let him take it. "Buck—"
"I'm so fuckin' sorry. Don't know why I let her get in my bed. You, you're so fuckin' amazin' and I'm so sorry, please, let me make it up to you," he begged.
Steve came up behind him, his blue eyes sad. "We're both sorry. I, I can never forgive myself for the way I treated you, for thinking so lowly of you. And I, we, understand that you've moved on—"
"I haven't." You looked between them. "I mean, I'm not with Loki. We, uh, we tried it, but we decided we were better off friends. But, boys, you really broke my heart."
"And we'll do anything you want to mend it," Bucky said, pressing a kiss to your knuckles. "You say jump, we'll ask how high. Please, baby, please just give us a chance."
You bit your lip. "One chance, just the one. I have missed you too. But it's all on my terms. All of the dates are things I'll like, we do anything I want until I feel you're forgiven."
"Of course," Steve said.
"And no sex til I think you've earned it."
Bucky whimpered at that condition, but he slowly nodded. "Yes, baby, whatever you want. We just wanna make things better."
Loki, who had been silent until that point, finally spoke up. "And if either of you do anything to upset Lady Y/N, you will not just have to deal with her wrath, but mine as well."
"Yeah, boys, so play nice," you laughed, moving over so they could sit on either side of you. "...thank you, for finally coming to your senses."
"Thank you for not hating us," Steve said.
"Oh, I could never hate you," you admitted. "I love you."
