"Hello, is anyone home?"  Marinette Snow White calls out as she knocks on the door.

     "Do you hear that, Dad?"

      "It is nothing."

"Nothing, but I am sure I heard something,"  Kalie states.

Adrien gives his daughter a stern look. He is not happy to have her talk back to him.

Kalie wonders who it is that is outside their house. No, it is a dump. Yep.

Marinette knocks again louder than the first time around. She hears some voices on the other side of the door. She tries the doorknob. To her amazement, the door slowly opens.

"Prince Adrien, Princess Kalie, it is you. Oh, thank goodness."

"Dad, it is her.  Marinette Snow White is here!"

"Yes, I can see that, my daughter."

      "What brings you here?"

"Oh, a fine greeting that is when I came all this way. It only took me two days."

"Now, pack your things at once. You shall accompany me back to the castle. Both of you."

Kalie grins as she packs a few things into a bag. She hates the cottage. It is disarray, and it is not much of a home. She notices her father packs in silence. Oh, great, she thinks he is still sore at Marinette.

Prince Adrien shoves some things into a suitcase. He is not happy that Marinette should give him orders, yet he does as she says. He finishes.

Marinette appears to be pleased. She carries the bag and suitcase outside. She carefully attaches them to the horse's side.

Kalie exits the place and climbs aboard the horse. She struggles not to fall off. It has been ages since she last rode such a fine mare. She smiles at the gentleness of the animal.

Prince Adrien refuses to look at her. He does not say a word as he goes to check on his daughter.  Marinette follows close behind him.

"You can not ignore me forever, Adrien!"

          "Oh, can not I?"

"Whatever has gotten into you? I  find out you left without a word. I seek you out. Now, you act as if I did something to wound you."

           "Luka, is he with you?"

"Luka, is that what this all, about hmm?"

Prince Adrien places a hand on her cheek. "Tell me, do you have feelings for him?"

"Feelings for him?  No, that would be absurd. Besides, he is just a petty thief.  A bad fellow who I despise."

Prince Adrien grins. He is glad to know that she cannot stand that other boy.  He looks into her eyes. He places his lips gently against her cheek then pulls away.

Marinette Snow White sighs. She blushes. She cannot feel this way about him.

"Prince A-Adrien, we must get going."

At her startled expression, he nods his head at once. He climbs up on the horse so that he is behind his daughter.  The young lady does not know how to explain that she must hurry. She manages to scoot onto the creature right behind Adrien. Now, she has her arms around his waist.

Kailie, Prince Adrien, and Marinette Snow White ride together. They go past the field of wildflowers, into a small village, then to the bandit's territory, and onward towards the palace.  They arrive at a little town. It is not well-known.  Few people appear to pass through it that live to tell about it.

The three friends and the creature are inside a small cave area.  The horse eats some oats, Marinette, Adrien, and Kalie nibble some dried fruit. They enjoy some water that Marinette has in her canteen.  As Kalie falls asleep, Marinette begins to yawn. Soon, she is fast asleep.  Prince Adrien stands guard.  A few moments later, he falls asleep as well.  The animal lays at the door to the cave.

The next morning, Kalie awakens early.   The mare, along with Adrien, and Marinette wake up shortly after she does. Marinette guides her pet outside. She feeds them again.  Marinette climbs onto the horse.  Adrien slides in behind her. This time his arms are around her waist and Kalie is right behind them both.

Prince Adrien relaxes.  He wishes he could hold her close like this more often. Kalie smiles. She is happy to be going home at last. Yes, home!
