     Kali's POV:

She wished Marinette Snow White would admit her feelings for her father, Prince Adrien.

She smiled as the two danced.

She noticed the flowers in the corner of the room were Marinette's favorites.

Perhaps her father had a few tricks up his sleeves after all.

She realized that Marinette and her dad seemed to have forgotten she was even there.

She tip-toed out of the room. She found some royal musicians and asked them to play a soft, romantic, slow dance.

Little known to her, the two lovebirds drew closer as they heard the song.

Marinette felt her breath catch as Adrien's lips were not far from her reach.

She did not know what came over her.

She was at a loss for words.

Adrien sighed as he felt Marinette's head rest on his shoulder.

He did not let on how much he wished for more.

How could he tell her now?

She made it clear she did not feel the same.

He could make her love him no matter how much it hurt him.

He wished to forget how she felt,  so he kept on dancing and did not say a word about how close she was.

He heard her gasp when someone took a photo of them dancing.

      Kali waved at the two.

She hoped the magical moment might get Marinette to say she loved her father.

She wished she would love him.

She would not mind having Marinette as a stepmom.

She knew Marinette cared more than she let on.

Why was it Marinette insisted on hurting them all?

If not with actions, then with her words and refusal to consider marriage.

Is it that bad for them all to have a happy ending?

Please let this slow dance work because I can not stand to see my father sad anymore.

Today, he is the happiest I have seen him in years. Do not let his heart break again.

Narrator's POV:

Little did the child know that Adrien wished Marinette would return his feelings.

Prince Adrien remained silent as he danced with Marinette in his arms.

The prince never felt this way about any other woman, nor did he want to do so.

Why did Marinette go that far to bring him and Kali back?

Why did she nurse them back to health?

Why did she stay by his bedside even after Kali was better?

He felt his emotions get all confused.

Was he to back off after today and let her go if it meant  he would remain as she said, "Only just a friend?"   Suddenly, he felt a chill in the air.

Later that day, after the dance ended, the prince backed away slowly. He did not say a word.

He sat on a bench outside the palace. He sighed. Was it too good to be true to long for a happy ending with Marinette by his side?

Marinette watched the prince go outside. She saw him sit on the bench. She gave him his privacy.  The entire time she recalled the dance and blushed.

What was this feeling?  Why did his far-off look make her feel guilty?
