A feast was held to celebrate the queen and prince's recovery from their illness. Kali helped the cooks. She was happy too since she knew it was a grand event.

Kali stirred the sauce for one of the items being cooked. She then helped to shred some cheese.

Marinette and Adrien stared at each other. "My queen, are you truly better?" Prince Adrien asked.

"Yes, and you must not grovel like that young man. We are both royals." Marinette Snow White stated.

Adrien and Marinette Snow White entered the garden. They enjoyed each other's company as the others continued preparing for the feast.

Tikki stood by the standing guard. She was a fairy who disguised herself but rarely came to the palace. She was here now to ensure the safety of the queen and prince due to the strange course of events that took place a few days ago. Her husband Plagg was inside the tree standing guard because he felt that post was the best viewpoint.  Tikki envied him for being able to fly better than her and for the fact that he could remain as he was with no need of disguise.

Marinette and Adrien had not noticed Tikki and Plagg's presence. It was due to the fairies not wishing to be noticed.  Even if they had seen Tikki due to the armor she wore they would have never guessed she was a fairy. They would have thought her an ordinary guard.

Alya and Nino the nymphs arrived for the feast. They were more than happy to participate because it gave them time to celebrate their new-found relationship and to rejoice in Prince Adrien and Queen Marinette's health. Yes, there was much to celebrate today.

Others came some in disguise and others without one for the royal celebration.

Kali was overwhelmed by all the guests and the excitement. Her father and the queen stood rather close. She noticed the queen held his hand.  It was not what she had hoped for but it was a start. She finished helping in the kitchen and went outside.

She saw the strangely dressed guard in red armor with black spots on it.  The lady had bright red hair, and she wore no makeup. Yet her face shone brightly. It was a cloudy day and rather chilly.  How did the guard remain at attention without so much as a blink?  She did not know she was the only person to have seen her so fair.

The feast arrived at last. Kali, Adrien, and Marinette sat together. The others joined them. The guards stood ready should anyone come to try to take over the castle. The new guard was unnoticed by most. Kali did not say a word because she was certain the New arrival of the guards was no ordinary guard. She dared not speak out about how she suspected this last guard was not a guard at all but a fairy.   It would remain her secret. There was no sense in spoiling the party by alarming anyone to her suspicions.

Besides, Kali reasoned to herself, The  New guard had weapons, and armor and wore a red veil over her face under the helmet. If that is how it went, I shall see to it at once that she is given food too. She sneaked cookies out to her when she thought no one else was looking.

"I must say young princess that you are not as blind to my appearance as the others. Why is that?" Tikki asked. "I am not sure. I know nothing about my real family. Adrien adopted me a few years ago." Kali replied. "Ah, child, you are of pure heart," The fairy said. "I guess you could say that, but how did you know?" Kali asked. "You gave me nourishment when no one else looked my way let alone offered me a morsel of food," Tikki remarked.

"Now be off back to the festivities. I shall not be responsible for what happens to you if you should wander off further," Tikki told her.  Kali nodded her head. "Yes, Tikki, I shall go."  She returned to the party and was glad when no one asked where she had been.

Tikki smiled. The child was a rare find in these parts. She wondered, Where had Adrien found her?  Did he know about her abilities?  She highly doubted it. She had seen Kali run towards the back door. Once the young one was inside Kali had closed her eyes and appeared inside the room with the others almost as if she had never left.  Tikki knew that was not ordinary for any regular human child. Was there more to Kali than meets the eye? Perhaps.  Tikki decided to keep these things to herself and that she and Plagg would remain here until they felt Kali's life was no longer in danger.

The rest of the festivities went well. Adrien presented Kali as his daughter to those who came to visit the palace.  Marinette smiled proudly at them both. There were whispers among some of the guests because a few noticed Kali vanished one moment and suddenly without warning reappeared in the room.   They thought it very peculiar indeed. Other guests ignored it or did not notice because they did not wish to pay anything any mind.

Adrien and Marinette returned to his quarters after the feast was over. Kali unknown to them listened at the door.  "My Queen, did you notice something different about Kali, this evening?" He asked. "Different, in what way?" Marinette asked. "I mean she left the room through the door, but she did not return the same way," Adrien said.  Kali thought, oh, no, he found out. How did he find out?  She was sure she was careful.

"Prince Adrien, I think you imagine quite a bit because of our near-death experience, "Marinette Snow White said.  "Perhaps, but what if it is real?" He asked. "There is no way that could happen, the species that has that sort of abilities, died out years ago. I heard so from my father," Marinette explained.

Kali gasped, so the queen's father had murdered her people. Why?  What could he have had against them?   She ran to her room troubled about this new information she had overheard.  She must let on she knew.
