"you sure i can do this?" giselle asked worriedly glancing at rodrick, who had nothing but a smug smile on his face. her hands held onto the steering wheel tightly that her knuckles had begun to turn white.

she never thought of ever getting her drivers license, which most kids her age were usually excited about, until her mother had brought it up.

giselle had always been scared of being a driver and was not interested being in charge of everyone in a car with her. it made her anxious and the fact that she had never won a single round on mario kart proves her point about driving, but of course, once analyn aoki sets her mind on something it must always follow through. however, giselle didn't mind taking public transport for the rest of her life.

"you're going to do great!" rodrick cheered, letting out a light laugh. he had his legs up on the van's dashboard like a king. he was going to spend the rest of his afternoon helping giselle out with her driving, which he had been doing for the past week now.

surprisingly with analyn aoki's blessing.

giselle groaned, shooting him a pleading look as she still kept her hands on the steering wheel. "i mean you have your license and you're a decent driver..ish." she shrugged, earning a playful eye roll from her boyfriend. "why can't you just drive me anywhere i want to go?" she smiled cheekily, hoping to get out of this situation.

rodrick shook his head. "you're cute, and i will drive you anywhere you want to go." he pointed out in a matter of fact tone. "but you can be my driver too, right? equality."

"oh i hate you." she huffed,  breaking their eye contact. "we're both shitty drivers."

rodrick giggled, smiling at her. "gi, you're gonna be fine! we've practiced this before, put the gear into drive and just gently press the pedal, then turn left." he reminded her. "and hey, maybe by the end of this, you'll be way better than me."

"is that your plan? make me better at driving so you'd stop getting tickets." giselle rolled her eyes.

"bingo!" he teased.

he was being patient with her, knowing how easily startled she got when it came to driving. once he heard about mrs aoki's interest in getting giselle into driving, rodrick was more than willing to help her. plus he was able to see his girlfriend more often and he wanted nothing more than to spend time with her.

giselle took a deep breath, feeling a slight surge of confidence as she slowly put her hands on top of the shift gear. "shit! what if i bump into something, rodrick?" she exaggerated, leaning her head onto the steering wheel.

rodrick patted her shoulder comfortingly as he used his free hand to emphasise their location. "uh, gi we're literally in an empty parking lot." he pointed out.

"oh how convenient," she sighed.

rodrick grinned, "come on babe, you got this." he cheered her on.

giselle laughed, pushing down her fear and switching the gear from park to drive. she knew she was being silly, considering she was literally learning how to drive automatic rather than a manual. however, giselle didn't care, it all felt difficult to her.

the vehicle began to move and the girl decided to slowly step on the gas, making the loaded diper van speed up slightly. this didn't feel all too bad, she thought to herself. it was even starting to feel comfortable.

remember to turn left, she recalled rodrick's advice and turned the wheel to make the van turn to a different direction. and much to her surprise, she was driving around the parking lot smoothly.

she took a quick peek at rodrick's reaction and to her delight, her boyfriend had his camera out and was filming her with the same old goofy grin plastered on his face.

"you're driving, gi!" he exclaimed.
