It'd been about an hour or two since we had been locked in this god forsaken dorm room. I was annoyed out of my mind being locked with a bunch of assholes, excluding Marcus of course.
Viktor was my worst problem. His stupid comments in his stupid accent made me want to rip my own ears off.
Willie complaining about every single little thing he could think about was also an issue. I thought about ripping his vocal chords out, I swear.
Marcus on the other hand had been working on picking the lock of the door for thirty minutes.
He was always great at that, like it was his special talent. I guess when you live on the streets though, you have to learn to be a pick-pocket and pick every kind of lock there is. I mean, it's the only way you really get by.
Despite Marcus's skills, the monks used special locks on our doors. Locks designed to not be able to be picked by a teenage expert lock picker. That didn't stop him though, nothing ever really does if he's determined enough.
"It's jammed from the outside." Marcus said after trying to wiggle a card between the door and the doorframe.
"I could've told you that twenty minutes ago." I said blankly, sitting on one of the beds.
"Your gypsy street tricks will not work on lockdown, gutter boy." Viktor discouraged, laying on the bed across from me casually as if nothing was wrong.
"Well why don't you go and help him, asshole." I said rudely.
Granted, I wasn't one to talk. I tried helping Marcus unlock the door for about ten minutes before I inevitably gave up. I figured if we broke out we'd get in a bunch of trouble. It'd make us suspects for the murders of Chico and Yukio. More than we already were, that is.
The best option was to wait it out and explain everything to everyone later tonight at the roof. We had to come clean about everything. All of us were keeping secrets from each other and if we didn't do something about it soon, we'd be in for a real shit-show to come.
"I told Gabrielle I was on my way over. Now, she's gonna think I stood her up." Willie complained as he picked up the flowers he got Gabrielle from the desk.
I'm guessing this was his dorm because his things seemed to be here.
"Why do you have flowers? Is girl dead? Did you over-correct her behavior?" Viktor teased.
"What? No, step off, Vlad." Willie defended.
Viktor rolled his eyes before trying to lay down comfortably on the bed again. Once he failed he sat up on it.
"Bed is lumpy like person who sleeps in it." He said through his thick accent.
"That's my roommates bed, man." Willie said.
"I stand corrected." Viktor replied.
Then Viktor lifted the pillow, revealing snacks, lotion, and a magazine of naked women under it. God, men are disgusting sometimes. He picked up the lotion and magazine and chuckled.
"Is old proverb. To abuse one's horkum is to anger the Baba Yaga." Viktor said as he looked closely at the items.
"Shut the fuck up with your Baba Yaga bullshit. I've heard enough of you to last a lifetime in the last hour." I said rudely.
From across the room I saw Marcus looking for things to unlock the door with. He was clearly frustrated, trying his best not to punch anyone or anything. I'm guessing the banter of these two boys didn't help his focus much.
"Babe, just stop. We'll get out of here soon enough. If you break out it'll be worse." I urged him to stop.
"I gotta send a message to Saya before her and Maria kill each other." He disregarded my comment before turning to the door and trying to open it again.
"They probably aren't even in the same dorm." I suggested.
"We don't know that." Marcus replied not looking at me.
I rolled my eyes in frustration, giving up on the conversation. After a couple seconds I noticed it went quiet so I looked at Willie and Viktor in front of me to be met with them staring.
"If you wanna keep your eyes I suggest looking at something that isn't me." I threatened.
They took the warning and looked back down at the nude magazine quietly.
"Fuck." I muttered under my breath as I brought my hand to my face and rubbed it in frustration.
I hate fucking King's.
