Chapter 26: Months Gone By

Sunday December 1st, 1991

6:00 a.m.

Willie

As I got up I had a lot on my mind. It's been months since I've heard from Kelvin, hell it's been months since he's heard from me as well. We've both been busy with life. The last time I heard from him was October 15th. So a lot was going on in my mind. Last time we met up was late September and we went to see a movie and hung out. I took care of my daily hygiene, I wash my face, took a long piss, & took a shower. Around 7:15 a.m. I left the house I didn't even get anything to eat. I went down to the car dealership and when I got there I took time to just think.

"Hey kid what's on your mind?" Evan asked as he entered the room.

"Awwww hey Evan, a lot honestly. From school, to football, to things between me and Kelvin." I honestly told him. "I haven't heard from him in months."

"Well have you tried calling him or writing him or something?"

"Yeah, and all I'm getting is static, I called him. I get his answering machine & I wrote him about a month ago or so. I haven't even planned a trip back out to Colton or anything." I told him.

"Well maybe he's been real busy."

"Busy enough to where he can't make even a 2 minute call to let me know he's okay?"

He shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know what to say, but the Kelvin I met wasn't the type of guy to give his dude the cold shoulder." He said. "Just give him time."

"Look all I know is that he's gotta be the one to make the next move. I have love for Kelvin & I love him but I'm not going to played like some busta." I told him. "Anyway I got to get to work. I know you don't want me sitting around on my ass all day." I said getting up and getting to work.

Time seemed to fly by quick, talking to people and making sales, these cars really go fast at times, by the time the day was over I sold about 5 cars. I got paid $1,300 commission which isn't bad at all. I have that silver tongue, I know how to sell a car.

4:30pm

"Well Evan, that was no sweat, that was easy." I said laughing. "These cars sell quick." I told him. "Well I got to get home. Hey thanks for letting me work today. I really needed to get this situation with Kelvin off of my mind." I told him.

"No problem man, not at all. I hope everything works out with him." He told me.

After he said that I looked at him and thanked him and gave him a hug. And I went to my car I thought to myself what should I do. After thinking about it I decided that I was going to take the drive up there and go see Kelvin because we need to link up and I need to get to the bottom of this. Even though it was a school night I was going to go up there and see what his mindset is and catch up. It took me about 2 hours to get to his place because of traffic and everything. By the time I got there it was around 8:45 p.m., close to nine.

8:45pm

Kelvin

I just got finished eating dinner and a lot was on my mind. From what's been going on with me and Willie as of late it's been silence for him. To be honest he probably found somebody else and moved on. I haven't but he probably did. Calls have stopped on my end because I've been going through a lot. I've lost somebody close to me in my life. I've been distancing myself from a lot of people. I sat down on the couch and turned the TV on. Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air was on so i watched that & as i was watching it I got a knock on the door.

"Yo who is that?" I asked as I walked over to the door.

"Willie.' The voice said on the other side of the door.

I looked through the peephole to make sure it was him And I was surprised. It really was willie.

"Yo what you doing here 88?" I asked him

"I'm here to see you. I don't drive over 2 hours for nothing." He said.

I hesitated for a second and then I opened the door. "Come on in. So what you want?"

"Oh wow you're still giving me the cold shoulder man?" Willie asked. "So that's how it is after 2 months of not hearing from you?"

"Yo I don't have time for this. If all you did was come over here to argue with me then you can turn your black ass right back around in that car of yours and bounce back to where you came from." I wasn't playing I'll let him know that quick fast and in a hurry.

"Look Kelvin ain't nobody trying to argue with you. Not at all. I just wanted to know why I haven't heard from you at all? It's been 2 months man, 2 months without you. Do you not know what that did to me?" He said, looking into my eyes. 

"Look, it's just a lot of things that I'm going through man. You probably would not begin to understand this. But you probably do because you lost somebody close to you a while back. Look I lost Jamal. He was gunned down 3 weeks ago over a petty bullshit ass fight in a club. He pissed off the wrong guys; they cornered him and shot him multiple times and to make it worse, i'm the one that found his body." As I begin telling him this, tears started shedding uncontrollably from my eyes. "And then I had to bury him last week. I had to get the money to bury him. Over $5,000 5 grand man to bury my friend." I looked Willie in his eyes as I told him what was going on.

"Oh man, I'm so sorry to hear that. I know how much he meant to you and this loss right here is definitely going to affect you. Right now I really feel like I don't want to leave you sad or behind at all."

"I don't have nothing, or nobody man." I told him. "I don't know if i'm worth anything man, sometimes i don't even feel like being here." I honestly told him.

"Stop it!" He said as he got closer to me. "You are somebody and you are worth something 95. You're worth something to me." He said as he came closer to me and hugged me. "You mean so much to me." He kissed me. The next thing i know i kissed him and we began shedding our clothes and we went over to my couch and continued kissing.

"Make love to me Willie." I said as he nibbled on my ear and got on top of me. "I want to feel all of you inside of me." I told him.

"Bet." He said before he slid all of himself in me. After a good 2hrs of fucking he climaxed for the third time.

"Awww that felt so good Kelvin, you felt good." He said as he pulled out of me.

"So did you." I told Willie. "Willie can i tell you something?"

"Go ahead, what's up?"

"I think....I think i'm falling in love with you."
