Lunch with Jules and Jayden was going well. I got my long anticipated french toast and we caught each other up on our lives since we last saw each other just a week ago. Noah and I texted a little bit more while I was eating, but I didn't tell them.

"Dovie, what are you smiling at?" Jules asked.
"Oh my mom sent me a funny picture," I lied, immediately putting my phone down.
"Ok," she smirked with a bite of fruit in her mouth. She looked over to Jayden who was checking a text then looked back at me and winked. I rolled my eyes and scoffed.
"What?" Jayden asked, looking up.
"Nothing," I shook my head.
I didn't text Mr. Jupiter for the rest of lunch. Too scared of getting caught again. I dropped Jayden off first, and it seemed like Jules was about to explode as she left the car.
"Oh my god, what were you and Noah talking about during lunch?" she blurted. My eyes grew wide.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"You were so distracted," she said. "I mean it wasn't like rude, don't worry, but what were you talking about?"
"Just generic stuff," I shrugged. "Nicknames, traveling, LA vs. London."
"Well you seemed to be having a great time," she teased.
"You'll never let catch a break," I laughed shaking my head.
"Very true," she smiled lovingly. "But in all seriousness I hope it all works out with you two... I mean however you want it to work out."
"Thanks Jules," I smiled back.
I dropped her off a few minutes later then headed back home. As I pulled into the garage, I could hear my mom out back, so I parked my car and went through the back door.
"Hey," I greeted, seeing my mom and Brad (Cooper) sitting at the table next to the pool.
"Oh, hi Dovie," my mom smiled. "How was lunch?"
"It was good," I smiled back. "Hi Brad."
"What's up Davina?" he responded. He's one of the only people who calls me Davina. Well, him and my dad.
     "Not much," I answered.
"Heard you hit the Quiet Place II premiere last night."
"Yeah, it was a lot of fun," I nodded. "Speaking of," I started, using this as an opportunity to tell my mom about Monday. "Mom, is it ok if Noah Jupe comes over here Monday just to swim and hang out?"
"Noah Schnapp?" she asked, thinking she heard me wrong.
     "Noah Jupe," I repeated.
"Noah Jupe," she whispered to herself, trying to remember why she knew the name.
"From the premiere," I reminded her. "Marcus Abbott."
"Ohhh," she remembered. "Right, he was so sweet. Yeah, that's fine. Doesn't he live in London?"
"He's in town for a few days," I said. I walked over toward the pool and grabbed a grape from a bowl on the table.
"Oh, ok," she nodded. She's used to my friends traveling all the time for work. Some of my best friends live across the country. "Are you gonna swim today?"
"Eh, maybe later, I think I'm gonna clean my room a little."
"Wow," my mom gasped. "Never heard you say that before."
"That's how you know it's getting really messy," I nodded and started walking toward the door.
"If you find any candy in there just throw it out the window," Brad joked pretending to grab something from the air.
"Will do," I chuckled. As soon as I walked inside, my dog Nikki ran over and jumped her front paws onto my legs. "Hi baby," I sang. "Here go see mommy and Brad." I opened the door for her and continued toward my room. Yeah, I didn't actually want to clean. I'll bring my laundry down and rearrange some things on my dresser to make it look like I did, but I actually wanted to call Noah.
I planned it perfectly. It was 2 in LA meaning it was 10PM in London. Noah would be getting ready for bed now. I quickly checked my reflection in the mirror to make sure my makeup was still in tact from lunch-It was. I then picked my phone up, opened my texts with Noah, and pressed FaceTime.
I felt my heart skip a beat. I forgot that in a few seconds, I would see Noah's face again and hear his voice again. I mean, I always FaceTime my friends randomly, but never someone I just met once. What would we talk about? I should have thought this through more. Oh god, even worse, what if he doesn't answer? Maybe I should hang up and text him saying it was an accident and I meant to call Noah Schnapp. Is that too desperate? I didn't have any more time to overthink, though. The familiar "connecting" message appeared on my screen, followed by the image of a smiling, curly haired boy staring back at me.
